Does anyone know how the rear middle seatbelt is supposed to work. Looks like It just goes over the shoulder and isn't very practical (am I wrong). Tried using it for the first time and ran into some issues. Thanks!

It’s just like all other belts, when you sit there and strap in it’ll go across both your lap and shoulder.

Edit to add: just went into mine to double check before I posted to confirm.

It just comes over the top, tried it myself, doesn't restrain the lap. My concern is that it was installed wrong. Is this how they all are installed?

That belt should be anchored directly below where it comes out above the seat and then the latch floats freely on the belt creating a 3-point harness when placed into the buckle . Possible yours is missing the lower anchor point?

Perhaps... Thanks for the response! Would you consider taking a photo to compare?

Ah, yeah just noticed the belt is slid over to the buckle side in your pic, should be straight down from where the belt comes out:

Thank you, mine is not installed like that.

Wow, that’s surprising. Definitely need to have it checked by the dealer then. Surprised that would make it out of the factory like that?

But on re-looking, it should only be a single strap and yours shows it looped, making me think it just needs some finagling to work.

Looks like the belt buckle part has been missed somehow and is wrapped around the back upper half of the seat. Is is possible to unbuckle it and push the buckle thru the top back piece and the lower bottom part of the seat where the seat pivots. That might return it's original function.

Actually, I think that won't work either, dealer's going to have to remove the upper part of the seat and then slip it thru.

The dealer will unbolt the belt at the floor, Then run the belt over the setback through the slot in the seat, then re-bolt the belt to the floor.

Hard to believe this made it through factory QA..

Yep, that's the smarter way to do it. Easier than tearing the seat apart. Thanks,
