Today I had one of my customers that I sold a Ranger to come in and he ordered a kit as well and when my parts guy called to place my customer's order he was informed that they are on back order but my kit that was already ordered would be arriving tomorrow! I'm so excited!!

I’m disappointed in the fact that if left plugged in to DCL connector the monitor won’t turn off on its own. I don’t want to be plugging this thing in all the time to monitor things. Ford Performance response was that it’s the way it is because the DCL connector has power all the time, which I already knew. It should of been developed to power down on its own.

I want to hit the order button, just spending to much on the other ride.

Mine runs like a scalded dog, taken it to 140 mph+ plenty of times., spanks all the local cars as well, even the V8 guys, they dont like that.
I LOVE cars like the VW and Subaru groups that wanna run with the big boys.

As long as the drivers are just playing for fun. The guys that are to serious are for sure a risk to hurt innocent people. Those drivers, I don’t play with. They may think they were faster, but I don’t care. I’m not risking or being involved in something that risks others. I don’t care if those drivers wreck themselves.

the best times are heading out for a track day. That’s were you can see where you really are in a safe environment based on times and passing zones.

I love watching the faces ( from my mirror ) when the the cars with half a sports/track car engine think they have the top end to hang and realize the air gets thin quickly as the v8’s drive away.

What are dealers charging to install this? Wanting to order my tune from Levittown Ford, but am wondering what Ford dealers are charging? this is so new it seems no one has reported back any real world numbers yet?

I am pretty sure they just started shipping this week. I'll be doing pre- and post-dyno pulls on my buddy's mustang dyno

Have to admit, I'm disappointed with the FPP Power Pack and Ford. The advertised gains are comparing a stock 87 octane dyno run to a tuned 93 octane dyno run -- really is not apples to apples, and nearly unscrupulous advertising.

Puts the FPP power pack in the same bracket as the Roush kit and simply put, not a whole lot of gain for the money. At least Roush is honest with the 15 HP gain claim rather than Ford's 45 HP claim.

Had talked myself into the FPP kit, was going through the check out process, and just can't do it.

I’m not convinced that maintaining 93 octane as referenced is providing the gains without this tune. I’ve run 93 octane since day 1 with the Ranger, 8 months now. In my area we have 87 89 93 octane options no 91 which is actually recommended for this engine, same as the Toyota Tacoma’s.

Yep, have had the same question, the supposed adapted gains using 93 octane are certainly best case. But, I expect the FPP kit is basically a re-map of stock and the max gains are also best case so real world peak power/torque will likely fall short of expectations.

I ordered the kit and shall see, though I doubt without the mapping tune anyone is realizing big gains just on 93 Octane.

Here in Colorado the best we have is 91. When I switched to it I noticed a difference in general with response and a little better MPG(1-2 at best) but not like a difference I would get with a tune. I am still waiting for my kit to ship to me but I like the idea of having SAFE RELIABLE power with tools from the Factory scan tool that other tuners dont have. Thankfully I'm not looking to hit the drag strip since I know that I own a Truck. I just figured since I will be putting a lift with bigger tires a little more power would be nice overall.

Let me know how it does on 91 please. I'm here in the springs and have been seriously considering a tune for my ranger as well.
