CB there is no license and that operates on AM frequency. But anything over 60 watts is either ham, grms, frs or otherwise and may need to be registered..... better double check that...
Yep from what I understand there was a legal tightrope that was walked to get these registered for non license use. You can call the company and they will explain much better than I can. I'm a truck guy not a radio guy haha it just works well.

No need for me to call. I have all my licenses... just letting you know. Great idea but hope they are telling the truth... other prob I see is does it operate on frequencies other people have.
good luck...

Nice I wish I did, I haven't taken the time to seek out that info and learn and don't have anyone in my life who knows all that stuff so its fallen by the wayside. And my understanding is it operates only on stored frequencies some of which are listed as and blocked to being listen only (unless you reprogram it at which point it's not the sold product anymore).

Nope, no license required to operate according to the owner. Talked with him and he said like everyone else they used to be one of those that you needed a license but nobody got one but they just recently put a ton of time and money into getting the product approved for no-license operation. No manual scan/programming function on the unit. You can program with a computer super easily but I guess (again according to them) the legal hurdle was removing the ability to wander onto an emergency channel accidentally.
Thanks for responding. Good to know. I have an operator's license which is required for pilots, but I didn't know about the radios themselves.

My first upgrade......Installed WeatherTech floor liners. I also picked up the black platinum "Ranger" lettering kit that I ordered, however, can't install yet because it's only in the 40's here all week and the instructions say must be installed when the weather is at least 60dg. Will be a hard wait.

Way softer but hit a bump, off camber turn, or sidewalk and it keeps the wheels on the ground and in a drop out, the truck just sits down into it quickly and solidly (honestly and truly, better than some purpose built trucks I've ridden in). Body roll is slightly more on highway ramps etc but that's the sacrifice you make when the wheels staying on the ground all the time is the priority.

The kings really aren't allowed to do their work with the stock leafs (and if you went with the off the shelf kings they're also a slightly more offroad/stiffer valving than you may be looking for if you're street comfort focused).

And I haven't seen the ome's for this truck yet so I am curious to see them because they do generally do a quality product (even though it's generally not in line with what I want out of this or most of my trucks) but I have seen a couple other (albeit offshore) companies' Ranger leafs and so far the material quality and design both are...less than ideal let's say.
Are those leafs going to eventually be for sale to the general public? I don’t like the fact the OME’s minimally raise the rear by 1.7”.

As soon as I feel they're exactly right and ready for that, then yes. And mine will be a similar height raise (about 1.5") I'm going for travel and ride quality not height. The higher you go you start making sacrifices in other areas unless the front is built correctly to match. And currently there's no front travel focused setup on the market that would necessitate or take advantage of any higher than that in the rear and the current design can't even be maximized until I perfect the changes needed to be made to the rear shackle setup.
