I installed the tailgate damper, it didn't go well because for some reason I put it on backwards because I wasn't fully aware. Scratched the paint on the side of the tailgate and bed where it bolts in. I'll maybe take it off and put some touch up paint to hide my failures.

Buddy is PDR guy. Mentioned in my original thread some arsehat door dinged her two weeks ago. Paint thankfully just isn’t chipped but have to
cut and buff it out some. Looks worse on these pics. Was really hard to show but you’d not know where the dent is.

That light they use a truth serum. It shows just how bad factory paint is lol. He did a great job. We had to pull the door panel so he could get enough room to use his tools without using the window like they usually do. The newer cars and trucks have laminated front side windows commonly. He said they are super sensitive to anything at that top edge. Easy to break. You can tell by putting your window down and see two pieces are essentially filed together. The top edge of laminated glass has a dip in the middle like a “U”. Our rear glass doesn’t. So FYI!!!

Door panel was super easy to get off thanks to this forum.

Have to add the TWSS! I’m loving the look of these. Would it be wide enough to block a door ding?
We park close in the garage. The photo shows the CRV door hits the runners and is well over 2" of play

They have excellent protection from SUVs as well. I attached a photo of our garage parking. Before with OEM runners, there was only 1/2" daylight between the Ranger and CRV. Then after installing the Runners, The CRV was at least 3" from a door ding.

The before situation left only 1/2" INCH now its at least 3" before the door hits the truck which cannot be done because the 6.6" runners protect the truck followed by the paint matched molding I installed as well. I exit next to a garage wall so I need the door to open leaving me about 3 feet wide I can access and get out of the driver's side door. We ONLY back in.

You would need to upload the video to somewhere like YouTube and then link to it here.

Hi Folks,

I took my Ranger out for a romp on the freeway on my way to my eye post op appointment in Tucson. Wife just loved being pinned to the passenger seat as I floored it to merge onto the I19 freeway... Then into city traffic, the truck responded appropriately to the traffic. Of particular note was the brakes responded in a much better manor after I bedded in the brakes. Some folks here have maligned the brakes but I still support bedding the brakes in to reduce this concern. As posted on these forums, the take up was nonexistent, as there was retardation upon slight push on the pedal... My complaint is that the application is nonlinear. Maybe not like a motorcycle... Far too little retardation on slight application and way too much on a hard pedal braking... Linearity is a fine balance...Ranger 5G did not deliver on this to the degree that I would have wanted, but is in no way unsafe. The whoa power is excellent... Love the rear disks of this vehicle as well... Anyway...Tucson rush hour traffic sucks but we made the appointment time with 10 minutes to spare...All if this in the comfort of a great ride in the FX4 suspension and quietness of the cab. All in all, this truck is a superb refinement of the previous generation Ranger.

Best,
Phil Schilke

Where did you get the mounting plate?
What benefit does the plate provide that you wouldn’t get by using the tie down threaded holes for the included pack mount?
