I have a 2020 Ranger Lariat Crew Cab and have a question about the climate control settings. When I remote start the truck to warm it up in the morning, I use the key fob. When I get into the truck after it has been running for about 10 minutes, I find the climate control heating everything satisfactorily, but the only seat being heated is the driver's seat. I have looked at the manual and at the settings in the truck and cannot figure out how to have both seats heating. The settings for seats only allow for automatic or manual. There is no choice for heating only one seat. I have them set for automatic. Is there something wrong with my truck, or do all the Lariats only heat the driver's side?
Thanks for any help!

Mine only heats the driver’s side. I’m pretty sure the only time I’ve ever had the passenger side come on was when starting manually inside the truck after it was shut off with the passenger seat heat turned on.

Nope nothing's wrong, mine the exact same way. Problem for me is I don't want the seat warmer on as it's not that cold for me to use them. I wish that Ford had actually had cooled seats,those I would use.:headbang:

I don't have th fob remote start but what I have observed using the Fordpass remote start is the seat heater doesn't actually come on until I sit in the seat. When I have a passenger the seat heaters come on for the both of us (driver and passanger).

I really wish you could control the temp from your phone. Mazda’s app has this feature and I’m super jelly. You think it would be an easy add since we already have the controls on the stereo.

I think the heat warmer for each seat comes on during remote start if it was on when the truck was last turned off. If the passenger side seat heater wasn't turned on when you turned the truck off last, then that one won't turn on when you remote start. If you want both seats to turn on for remote start, I think they both need to be turned on when you turn the truck off. That seems to be my experience at least.

Not a setting for it? My Colorado there was a setting for it in settings menu in the trucks head unit. I could set them to come on with auto start or not.

What is weird is when I use auto start on my phone with the Ranger sometimes it turns the temp up to like 80 something. I never have the temp over 70 degrees.

There is setting to have the heated seats turn on or not with remote start, as well as what your climate control is to be set at (if you have factory remote start). I think he was wondering why only the drivers side turns on and not the passenger side, even though the setting is for them to turn on.

If you don't have factory installed remote start (fob version as opposed to just using the app), I'm not sure if you can change the settings or not.

Some observations to add here. This morning it was in the 30's when i was getting ready for work. 15 minutes before i left, opened the garage and remote started from the FOB. When I got in, drivers seat was warm. I remembered this thread and checked the passenger seat. it was warm as well. Cool! Then pushed start. Only the Drivers side seat warmer indicator showed on. Which I expect. I've done this test several times now.

Anyone else check the passenger seat for heat before pressing start?

I've never let the truck run that long before getting in. 15mins seems like a crazy amount of time to me. Usually only like 1-2mins max for me, even when it's -30F outside. Either way, that means that when I get in, neither of the seats have really had a chance to warm up much, if at all. It does take the chill off, which is all I really care about, but that's usually not enough for me to notice if the pax seat had also come on. Interesting observation though! Something I'll try and look into though.

I have my Lariat set to turn on climate control as it was when I shut it off. Seats do not come on even if they were on when I shut down the truck.

Heh, I use my seat warmers every morning these days. It was a freezing-my-butt-off 62F this morning :LOL:

As for cooled seats.. I don't know... we had them in our '16 Explorer, it worked but it felt more like you were peeing your pants than that it actually cooled you or the seat. It didn't do much for me and I barely used it in the end.

:LOL::LOL:

I have been trying out the seat warmers the past couple weeks and I'm starting to get use to them. When you remote start your truck they automatically come on but on high so as long as I remember to turn them down to low I'm ok with them otherwise about a mile down the road my butts on fire! :devil:
