I just received a letter from my dealership telling me I had been pre-approved for a large chunk of change toward a new vehicle because, apparently, "our records indicate that you currently own a vehicle we are very interested in acquiring." Fat chance!

Question:
What would it take for you to part with your Ranger?

The exact package set up I have on my ranger on an F150 for the same price lol. When I was looking at the ranger the F150 was about 150-200$ more a month maybe a bit more but sounds about right.

Within a week of buying my truck I was receiving letters from the "general manager" they wanted to buy my truck and pay me a premium because they had customers waiting (this was during the Ford plant shut downs). I sent them a reply I would accept $5,000 above what I paid after all fees.

I stopped getting offers after that. Sorry Mr. Salesman, your upsale scam no worky on me.

On a funnier note, within 3 months I was getting spam (snail) mail from third party sellers warning me my warranty was about to expire and to act now so I don't get stuck with repair bills. I think at the time I started getting them I had maybe 600 miles on the odometer.

The whole car market is a giant ball of crap. Thank God I don't have to deal with that garbage for all the other products I buy. I despise car dealerships and those they sold my information to.

That would be a great deal! I bought the Ranger specifically because it was smaller than the F150. I didn't want anything that big (I opted for the Ranger instead of a tricked out SxS that I would have to tow around) but I do wish the Ranger came with more options on the power plant.

:like: Those warranty things start as soon as all your dealer paperwork is finalized.

I traded in a 2012 Fusion Sport to get my Ranger and the Fusion was my "fun" car. I only drove it when the sun was out and stored it from first to last snow each year. It was so clean and they wanted it so bad they way over paid bluebook so I got a great deal on the Ranger. I really can't think of what I would take for it except maybe a straight up swap for a Raptor Ranger and we all know THAT ain't gonna happen.

I get these a lot form my dealer.

What would it take for you to part with your Ranger?

A Ranger Raptor would persuade me really fast. Other than that there's nothing out there I'd really want as I'm really happy with mine. I was going to trade mine in towards a Bronco Badlands but decided to just downgrade to the Base model with the Sasquatch package and keep my Ranger. I love it and there's no replacement. :inlove:

Carvana will give you top dollar.
That seemed to be area specific though. When Tom @SubVet posted about getting top dollar for his in NC I ran it through just to see and it was only like $26K here in AZ.

Once all the mods start happening there is no way some place like that could price properly.

The Bronco is on order and will be a MY'22. I was debating what to do because I really don't need two vehicles but the Base with the SAS is such a good value. I'll use it for my off roading toy and cruising around with the top and doors off while all the young Senorita's are checking me out. Ok maybe the last part was a little far fetched. ?

It is NOT far fetched. It is NOT far fetched. It is NOT far fetched. Maybe if I keep repeating it, it will be true for both of us.

Question:

I've often been told, "It's cheaper to keep 'er".
