Redneck houseboat?

I LIKE IT! Clearly in the hills or mountains. Had to be a bit of work to make the pond and get it in there. Definitely won't be getting sea sick. You got everything in that picture... even a great reflection of the boat!

While we are talkin' boats. ships, etc.,

The US Military ship designation is USS, for United States Ship.

The British use HMS for their ship designation - His or Her Majesty's Ship.

Can you guess what Italy designates for their ships? TMB!! You know what it stand for?

Betcha Don't!
TMB. It stands for "That'sa My Boat"

Now that you had a laugh, the Italians actually at one time used the first L of the type of ship followed by a 3 or 4 digit number F for Frigate, D for destroyer, but they now no longer use a prefix. However NATO designates Italian military vessels ITS, but the designation is not placed on the ship.

Mexico is very curious... You'd think MS or RMS, but it is ARM, for Armada de la RepĂşblica Mexicana. Several Spanish speaking countries follow this practice.

Brazil follows the old Italian practice.

For a complete list of Countries and Ship designation look here

Now back to our regularly scheduled Native American Redneck Customs and Quaintness Thread.

You eat this
1739448438337-3u.jpg
I have never eaten Possum, but I remember arriving at my Grandfather's home in the low country of SC and spotting my grandfather stretching out a raccoon hide to be tanned. He sold the hides for $5 locally. That was quite a sum back in 1960. I asked about the rest of the raccoon. "It's for dinner!".

Back then every rural family had a hog or two in the back yard pen, a couple of hunting dogs also in a pen, and a rather large garden. I asked my mother about the raccoon, "Are we really gonna eat racoon?"

Her reply has stuck with me all these years later...

"Your grandfather loves to eat raccoons, your grandmother not so much, as it is quite a job to prepare, but she has agreed to cook raccoons, but only twice annually."

We had raccoon that night!

He actually took me raccoon hunting in the rice fields along the river at night. The dogs let loose would quickly tree the raccoon, and granddady would shine his flashlight up in the trees until he saw the eyes shining back. He'd aim his Sears JC Higgins side by side 12 gauge... and we'd bag the raccoon.

I had his shotgun for years, and recently gave it to my nephew, who I know will take good care of it.

We were going over the closets with the builder yesterday. I found a way to save a couple thousand and figured it would fit right in here in Arkansas. o_O ?

You might even be able to do chin ups on that handle if he mounts it on the studs
Or in Arkansas you have a place to hang your banjo.
