Or it could just be your ancient phone.
No, I can hang for a long time on other sites and forums. This one obviously accelerates battery drain, I’ve tested it time and again. It also has video pop ups with every page navigation, which I think is part of the problem. Sounds like others have noticed this too.

Title says it all. Have an iPhone 8, up to date on iOS. This site is an offender and not others. Always tons of pop up video ads every page I navigate to. Maybe that’s part of it?

Part of it is the adds and part of it is the 30 second auto refresh that @Sanctus Rimor pointed out in his reply.

And ditch that iPhone 8 and go with a newer iPhone. The newer iPhones are a lot better as far as battery life goes. Depending on how much I use my iPhone 14 Plus, I can go two to four days without having to charge it.

And for others, I have used Android, Windows and Apple phones and the iPhones have worked the best for me. But go with what you like.

I use Mozilla Firefox app on my iPhone. Settings > Data Protection > turn on strict. Can also block pop ups and YouTube ads.

Just turned on ad block plus on my phone. Have it set to allow non-annoying ads. Guess this sites ads are all annoying because I'm not seeing any. Good riddens to the especially annoying video ads that if you forget to close the ad, or site, and set your phone down, will prevent it from locking and kill the battery.

Just did that. Hope it helps. I am a hardcore Android guy. Don't like Apple. (Also don't like a lot of things about the company itself but that's another conversation.) This site does seem to like to eat up a battery charge. Got to look into the ad blockers that have been mentioned. You can't do ANYTHING on this site on your phone without a damn ad getting in the way.

BTW, before you pile on about my "Apple ignorance," my work phone is an Apple. Have had Apple work phones for years. So I have plenty of experience with Apple. In my case, give me Android. Period.
