Ford claims that the ABS system is capable of acting as electronic limited slip.
They were confused when I ordered my Ranger, and at first even claimed that limited slip was standard. I have never seen such abject incompetence in the marketing department.
I had a list of 12 questions for which Ford had no answers .
At any rate the ABS does control traction when towing or driving at speed whereas a locker is worthless for driving and only serves a very limited purpose when needed.
Overall, though it is still electronically a "virtual" 4X2 even without a mechanical limited slip offering.

You should hear the dumpster fire that is the AU Mustang Mach 1 marketing and Ford's resolution for it.. You just can't help but shake your head at their rather impressive failure across the board with this one.

I’ve always wanted the 4x2 for the less weight and less maintenance. Fx2 on the Ranger seems to be the perfect compromise because at least it has a rear locker.

I could get away with it now living in Texas. But I do travel to the snow belt quite a bit.

I went 4x2... payload is higher than 4x4 and can tow as much as 4x4 so saw no need for it... only had mine 3 weeks but really like it so far.

2019 Ranger XL STX 4x2 SuperCab. I know it is kind of boring when compared to a lot of the cool trucks on this site, but I'm working on making it less boring. Lots of cosmetic improvements on the way... I'll post pics later.

This is the only pic I have down the side. It may be deceiving because I am running 1.5 inch Faction Fab wheel spacers.
