I have a lifetime alignment with a local shop, I have them do it at the same time. I've done it once so far, and will do it again late summer when I go in for an oil change.

Does anyone have a matching spare wheel and do a 5 tire rotation? How do the shops handle that? Do they remove and stow the spare themselves, or do you just keep in the bed for them and stow it yourself after?

I use Wal-mart, it's just handy for me. Initially pay appx. $12 pr. tire & they rotate & balance for the life of the tires, no matter where they were bought. They change my oil every 5,000 & oil + rotate & balance tires every 10,000. I think they'd do the tires every 5,000 if I'd just ask them to.

Questions...do you rotate your own tires or have someone else do it? And if you have someone else do it who? Ford , Discount Tire, Jiffylube? I change my own oil and filter but rotating the tires are kind of a pain to do in my option, I've done it but I don't like doing it.
Just go to the nearest ford dealer and get the works package. It's totally worth it over DIY. I've done my own maintenance for years, but I have not touched this truck after learning how far $50 gets you at the Quicklane service center. I have the convenience of being able to work remotely from my laptop, so I just show up and work in the lobby for a few hours while they service the truck. They might even run a shuttle if you have somewhere to be.

Only thing I do myself is clean it, really.

I got the lifetime oil change deal from my dealer when I bought it, and a rotation is included. Do every 5,000 miles.

On a 6000 miles oil change schedule and rotate tire at the same time. Started it with the mustang that had to be jacked up to change the oil and just continued with the ranger.

Driveway, floor jack and 4 jack stands have lots of practice.after driving autocross monthly. Switching to sticker tires (200 tire wear) for events and back to daily drivers.
Where are you jacking up via the jack for Front & Rear, and where are you placing the 4 stands?

I have them rotated at Firestone which is free with a Firestone Credit Card. If you buy tires from Firestone, you get free rotation and balance for the lifetime of the tires. Dave, who is a certified Ford mechanic but now works at Firestone, is the only person that every touches my Truck. You won't find a better mechanic ✔ He kept my former Ranger in perfect condition!

I have a great dealership and they have an excellent service department and I let them do everything. While I love cars and trucks, my mechanical aptitude in sadly lacking as I can't even hammer a straight line.

I get my tires balanced and rotated with each 5K oil change - I have a full size spare, and they check the air pressure in it for me. It was one of the original tires that came with the truck and I picked up a nail in it not long after I purchased the truck, which the dealership fixed for me and swapped it with the full size spare which I now regularly run.

I had my 10K oil change (full syn) and tire balance/rotation and asked the dealer to install a deflector (Ford product) on the hood, as I still had quite a few points. They did a fine job. My truck's name is Buckbeak, so he got a beak upgrade. I'm ready for dementors, dark wizards, and orc mischief now!!!
