Putting a roadside emergency kit together in which I want to include a gallon of coolant. The printed and online 2020 Ranger owners manual says to use Motorcraft Orange coolant, yet the attached chart put out by Motorcraft says to use Motorcraft Yellow coolant.
It also notes a running change for MY 2019 from Orange to Yellow on 7/8/19, heads up on this 2019 owners.
The Motorcraft site cryptically warns not to mix the 2 different color coolants, the actual coolant in the reservoir on my truck kinda looks yellow, in a psychedelic sort of way.
Who would you believe in this situation?
Personally I believe the chart and my eyes more than the asinine manuals...

From the owner's manual:
Motorcraft® Orange Prediluted Antifreeze/Coolant
VC-3DIL-B WSS-M97B44-D2

Agree with trusting your eyes. My truck has a 5/31/19 build date and has the orange coolant.

Yours is definitely yellow. It made me pause when I saw your picture, I haven’t seen the yellow before.

Trust my eyes and as a backup you could ask the dealers service tech to look

Thanks for the notice, I was shopping for coolant yesterday. I found the orange on Amazon.

No doubt about it, that is definitely Orange. Maybe if I had a few more beers when I took the pic of my reservoir the coolant may have glowed in the dark!
Thanks for taking and sending the pic bro....:like:

Yellow coolant, 7/19 build.

Anyone know the difference between yellow and orange ‘cept the color? And why the change mid year?

Thanks to all who responded, I concur that my 2020 does use the yellow coolant, yet another coolant color for my stable:
  • Green '99 Honda Accord
  • Blue '02 Honda CR-V
  • Pink '06 Toyota Camry
  • Yellow '20 Ranger
Thank God I'm not colorblind...
