Jeff, very sorry for the loss of your Pierre.Well said, very well indeed Alex...
I was devastated when I sent my beloved Pierre to cross the Rainbow Bridge 38 days ago because of cancer.
As strange as it sounds, I grieved his loss more than some people I've known...

Thank you, Richard. So sorry. That is such terrible news.
So sad. Hope your surgery is going well.So I have my Malinois due to the previous owner having stage 4 pulmonary fibrosis. The doctor told him that if he wanted to extend his life, that he needed to give her up. The allergens and dander issue. So my wife and I were known to truly care for our dogs. So we met up to see if she would be a good fit. Obviously we were. I remember the day he brought her over for good. Steve sat in the backyard with her and cried. It was heartbreaking. But I told him she would be loved and well cared for.
So I am here in the states for my surgery so I decided to text some recent pictures and videos of Bindi to his wife. She loved her and stated she needed cheering up. She told me Steve passed away on Thursday. We stayed in touch ever since we adopted her. They would periodically visit, and Bindi would jump up and hug Steve. So sad thoughts.
Sorry for long post. Took that to explain the story.
Yes Tracy all good. Just have to be here another 5 weeks. So sad. Hope your surgery is going well.
Mahalo for your kind thoughts Tracy...Jeff, very sorry for the loss of your Pierre.

We once had a pug who "owned" us, his name was "Ernest" because he bore a close resemblance to Ernest Borgnine...lolWhere's our dog? Still in bed. Not noon yet. But life will be busy when he gets up ... He loves to ride shotgun in the Ranger.

thanks for your reply. Having lived in Hawaii for 3 years when I was a kid (Ewa Beach) it was almost like old home week with those guys even got some dried cuttlefish and Li Hing Mui out of the deal. and Truth in Lending I was a contractor not in the military. Didn't get the privilege of serving in the Service due to bad eyes and super flat feetAloha Dave,
I retired from the Honolulu Fire Department in July 2018 and never did serve in Afghanistan.
The Firefighters you mentioned may have been Federal Firefighters based in Honolulu, a totally separate entity from HFD.
I did, however loose a former HFD Captain who was deployed there because he was in the Army Reserve, he perished when the Humvee he was in was ambushed.
He taught and trained me on countless hands-on firefighting tactics and procedures one would never learn from a textbook or otherwise, I am forever indebted to him.
I salute you Dave for your service to our country and am indebted to you as well!
You wouldn't want to live Ewa side now and have to commute into town, I've heard that some motorists will spend 1 - 1 1/2 hours in traffic if they get caught in it in the am...ditto for pm traffic as well.thanks for your reply.
