Honestly, I go in regularly still for the sake of the tire health. I get the tires rotated at the same time. I get it done every 6k to 8k miles when the oil change isn't truly due yet.

That's how it works. An algorithm monitors your driving style and calculates when an oil change is needed, OR you have reached 10K miles, OR 1 year since last service, whichever comes first. I get mine change every 5 - 6k regardless.
Since OP doesn't put a lot of miles on, I would say change every 5000 mile or one year, whichever comes first.
I do put on a lot of miles and I change every 5000, rotate tires, and add a bottle of Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner.
I have the dealer change it every 10k for warranty purposes and I do every 5k in between myself and upload photos of the Walmart receipt, oil and filter, and odometer to my Dropbox.
