Today a texting jackleg in a VW bug nearly took my front bumper off when chasing lanes in a round about. I hit the horn and honestly, it was a little embarrassing. It sounded like a clown car with sinus congestion going thru puberty. It was an awful, whimpy, sick, whinny, muted sounding noise. It made me feel bad for using it.
Who choose this sound or this horn....it needs to be changed!

I wonder if a tail gate dampener make it sound better?
Close your door at 10 p.m. to check your mailbox and leave the truck running. The horn will definitely alert all the neighbors.

Hi Joel,

Others have posted what I suspect is the causal factor as well. One of your dual horns is not working. The dual horns are located behind the drivers side headlight and are a bugger to access. Let the dealer fix this problem. My horn will wake the dead...no wimp horn here. Not like the Fiamm horns of the past...See another thread on this back story...

You have a defect in your horn system. Take it to your dealership. My horn blasts me out of the neighborhood.

Mine sounds like a regular truck horn. Yours must be defective.
My only wish is a driver enabled kill the horn toot when you get out with it running. Even my cheap Durango had that ability. Shouldn't have to hack the computer

Finally got a chance to get into it and take a look. It was a loose connection. It sounds better now. Thanks for the suggestions.

I think the horn is pretty loud - every time I get out of the car when it's running it scares the crap out of me. It's funny how horns vary so much even in the same model a few years apart. I had a 2002 BMW RT motorcycle whose horn was as loud as a large diesel dump truck. It was incredible and I loved it especially when some jackass was about to cut me off because he didn't see me. Never failed. I bought a newer RT and the horn sounded like a tricycle horn. Go figure.

You want embarrassing, try basically any motorcycle horn.

I thought it sounded good compared to the old trailblazer

I dunno. The factory horn on my Goldwing would scare folks into next week.
