In the next month my brother and I will be heading to Overland Expo East. After the show we plan on hitting the southern portion of the Kentucky Adventure Tour on the way to the Nemo Tunnel. Because the number of water crossings I’ve seen on YouTube, I am debating on whether to pick up an Alternator for this trip.

Granted we all have a spare tire, just in case, but what other spares do you normally travel with in your truck?
  • fuses
  • light bulbs (headlight, signal, dome, marker lights)
  • lug nuts
  • wiper blades
  • oil filter
  • tire stem caps
  • keys (wired or magnetically attached to the bottom of the truck)
  • spare wire, wire strippers and connectors
  • hitch pin
Too much? Too little? Anything else?
Spare tire
Tow rope
Jumper cable
Credit card.

That is all.

I used to carry spare U-joints. Does the Ranger even use them anymore? They only come up as universal parts, which I guess they might be.

I snapped one doing burnouts in an old F150 many years ago. Driveshaft fell right out the bottom!
This guy went off the chart on a burnout!...

That is pretty intense! Wonder if the wheel seized on there.

One time when I was a teenager I did one for so long in the mall parking lot that someone thought the building was on fire and called the fire department. :D
