I'm thinking about getting a catch can for my Ranger, and figuring out hot to reinstall the one I had on my Mustang before I supercharged it with the supercharger setup. I'm interested in seeing what options are out there for these trucks!

I have the UPR dual valve with CSS kit. I am extremely satisfied with it. It covers both sides of the system and catches quite a bit in cold weather. Some cans only go on the valve cover to turbo inlet and because of that are quite ineffective but people like them because they’re cheap and easy to install.

I personally have the Mishimoto catch can, and aside from it being a royal pain to install, it was working fine. However after just 2 years of use, the hoses it came with are already dried out and need to be replaced soon. This might be the source of the gas smell that lingers in my garage for a few hours after i park my truck...

Can't say I'd recommend it...

Yeah, the hoses were the reason I didn’t get a Mishimoto even under sponsorship pricing.

They should have owned the problem and offered free hose replacement. Another reason I skipped the whole catch can thing.

I had a Boomba catch can on my Focus ST, and the amount of crap it would pick up especially in the winter was shocking, so there was no way I couldn't skip the catch can on another Ecoboost engine... That said they were a little slow to the party so I got the Mishimoto, but I'll probably swap it out for a UPR one in the near future since for the price the UPR handles both side of the system whereas others do one or the other.

the ford performance one is good, short run of hoses and looks oem. Filter media looks good. JLT one is nice but you need to cut the insane hose length they give. Crazy how much these skyrocketed in price, used to be under $100, and even then was a lot for what they are.

forgive my ignorance, but on a flat 4 is there really two sides?

First, these are inline 4, not flat (think Subaru or Porsche). And the two sides I'm referring to are the CCV and PCV. Most basic ones do just the CCV, and in my experience barely grabs anything. The PCV side is what the Mishimoto does, and it grabs quite a bit of crud.

Sorry thats what i meant.

Used to Vs, so the sides im used to were the driver/passenger side PCVs.
Passenger side had the most blow by, drivers side was either a little or not much, and typically threw codes. Was curious what the second side/system was on these trucks

No worries, was just hoping that didn't come off as me being a dick.

Does the Ford performance one do both sides also? It doesn't look very big compared to the UPR one? Thanks,

I don't know about the newer Rangers (I have a 2020), but this was a bear to install. And this isn't anyone's fault but FoMoCo. I don't think Ford gives much of a care about service and support.

Ford Performance only does the CCV (passenger's) side. Just installed one on my '23 w/ 2000 miles on it, and was surprised how much oil was in the original line when removed.
