Installed the new (used) LT265/70R/17C BFG K02's mounted on Ford OEM 17" charcoal's. 2800 miles. Wheels look new and are are blemish free. The factory grease pencil markings still on them! Spare the same size as tires above and never on the ground. Spare came balanced. I mounted the spare face down to be able to check the pressure. Can't understand why Ford mounted them face up because there are 2 problems with this. 1st: the pressure can't be checked in this position and 2nd: water collects and sits in the channel on the other side. There was 1/2" of water sitting (from a recent rain) in the channel on my OEM spare when I removed it to replace it with the BFG spare. When the spare is face down the water will drain out because there is no channel on the other side.
Any one know approximately how much in mpg I will lose going to the BFG's from the STX stockers? Now I need some Gorilla locks. I ALWAYS say that this is the last Ranger goodie that I will ever buy and then one thing leads to another and then another and then another...when is this money burning going to end
Dave,Looks really good Paul! I went up to that same size and the mpg loss was about 1-2. I did gain that back once I tuned mine and started using premium. Guess you'll now have to spend more money and get a tune. It never ends! ?
What size tip did u get? ThanksA busy weekend and a new truck … LOL! Have to have the Tailgate dampener, grill lights, Rhino exhaust tip, bright puddle lights, Wolf Haus split power ( bed lights and inverter coming), console organizer.
that’s all for now … ?
Paul, I'm sure it's possible if there was that much rain that day. We get so very little rain out here I almost forgot what it is. Your speedometer will be off now with the larger tires so just keep that in mind. If you have Forscan you can adjust it from there or if you do decide to get a tune most will allow you to adjust them too.Dave,
Do you think it was normal to have that 1/2" of water sitting in the spare channel? Could that much have splashed up from the heavy rain the day before? My bedliner is sprayed so that should seal off any water going thru underneath to the spare. I use Chevron or Phillips (top tier) mid-grade which is the octane that the manual recommends?
Thanks Dave. It is extremely unusual for us to get this much rain too. Because of that, I don't know how to handle issues involving heavy amounts of moisture that affect the Truck. We have been in a serious drought. They make Christmas trees out of tumbleweeds here . Sometimes I forget what water looks like . When it rains here, it is big news and dominates the newscasts and personal conversations ?Paul, I'm sure it's possible if there was that much rain that day. I just hit 10k last week in my 2019 Lariat that I bought in November 2019. Welcome to the low mileage club!
