Afternoon! I couldn't really find an answer posted, and i'm away travelling so I don't have my manual. I'm adding a set of LED cube lights to the rear hitch of my teardrop, and want to tie those in on the reverse wire in the 7pin connector. Does anyone have the rating for that wire handy? The cubes I have state 60w each, although probably less, so I wonder if it can handle a pair. 60w / 12v gives me 5 amps each, so 10 amps total.

This doesn't answer your question, but I have thought about adding reverse lights to our teardrop as well, so I'd be interested in seeing your setup and what you went with, as well as learning the answer to your question as well.

The owners manual has a section on fuses. There you will find a fuse for the trailer backup circuit and it will tell you the amperage of that fuse. I just had to replace the fuse for the trailer tail light circuit and it was a 25 amp fuse.

According to the manual (page 244), the engine compartment fuse box #34 is for the trailer reverse lamp and is currently rated with a 10A fuse, I would be cautious with running these directly off this line. Might be more prudent to run a relay off that pin and power it off another source.

That's what I needed Gizmo! Yeah, I'm not going to run those directly. Might find something that has a lower output if i run it directly. I could use the reverse light wire as a trigger on a relay and power the lights from the camper onboard 12v...

I don't know anything about the lights, but if you have the Ford pass app then you always have an owners manual. I pulled up the PDF the other day. Select vehicle support.
