I definitely have the ringing in my ears (over 20 years in the Army with Army guns and explosives going off, then another 20 years as a Army civilian mechanic.) but for music 60s, 70s, and 80s rock.

Terri and I are at Ruoff music center for a 3 band concert, John Waite just played (the Baby's) next is Foreigner on there farewell tour round 2 lol and then Styx! We've seen Foreigner and Styx several times in the last 5 years and the music and singers still sound amazing. Foreigner has a local high school choir here that will be on stage for I wanna know what love is and maybe more.

I was watching a video of Joni Mitchell's appearance at the Newport Folk Festival a couple years ago when the YouTube algorithm recommended a number by another Newport performer, Sierra Ferrell. When I saw her for that first time, I was hooked. She puts down a mix of old-time country and gypsy jazz that's hard to resist.
Her personal story is compelling as well. Raised by a single mother in West Virginia, she left home as a teenager to go busking around the country.
I caught her show in Milwaukee a few months ago. Here are a couple clips.

I liked Johnny quite a bit, saw him a couple times in the '70s. His big breakout came in 1969, when I was 15. His music made quite an impression on me.

His bassist in the video is a guy from Milwaukee named Jon Paris. Jon was popular in Beer town before he moved on to bigger things.

Of course the bassist in the band Johnny had with Edgar was Tommy Shannon, who went on to form Double Trouble for SRV. To me, JW was head and shoulders above Stevie Ray when both were in their prime.

Vai is part of a King Crimson revival tour this fall. He does a pretty good job of covering Robert Fripp's guitar gymnastics.

Delain just released a new version of Sleepwalkers Dream.

The new version is with their current lead singer Diana Leah.

Both versions are great but I think I like the new singer's version better.

And the original

Edit: Can't believe I skipped this one.

Symphonic, Celtic, Metal all rolled into one by a Christian, Canadian homeschooling mother of 5.

Song doesn't really start until 1 minute in and the guitar solo is pretty great at 4 minutes in.

Guitar solo is by the guitarist for Delain.

A new Wanda Jackson cover from Sierra Ferrell hit YouTube recently, with Sierra on the musical saw.
