I disagree, the Rapid Red looks superbly better, runs awesomely better, gets way better gas mileage, and has 24 more horsepower than any other color.
At 150,000 miles, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 😁👁😁

Like I said. When it breaks I'll bitch. 180 mile trip this morning and 105 miles in check engine light comes on again. 35,980 on the clock. This truck has been plagued with engine management problems since day 1.

Very sorry to hear that.

Just got it back. Code is now in history so No Problem Found. I hate Ford and the dealers. Really wish I would have bought used and fixed it up, like I've done all my life. $55k in the worst vehicle of my life! And no not selling or trading. Will light in on fire and drive it through the showroom first!

Rant over till next trip out of town when it will come on again.

That’s about where I was with that POS Tacoma but I figured that might somehow affect my unescorted access to my nuclear power station office.

Well I'm retired and this is my hunting fishing traveling truck. I've spent $15k on accessories to make this the perfect truck for me. If the electronics would quit acting up the truck would be fantastic. For the hunting I do and the traveling the wife and I do. There is no other vehicle that would fit me the way this truck does. May have to look into another operating system like motec. But I really don't want to travel down that path. Offroad chasing birds down BLM roads this thing is awesome. Just want the check engine light to stay off and the brake pedal to stay firm. And yes I've done the fixes on the forum.

What car maintenance tip you'd like to give to a new owner?

By sharing your advice, you’re helping create a practical knowledge base for new drivers and contributing to a safer, better driving experience for everyone in the forum.

Your experience could be the tip that helps someone avoid a costly repair.
1-MAINTENANCE
2-MAINTENANCE
3-MAINTENANCE
My 2021 Ranger had 7 miles when I drove it off the lot five years ago last month. It will turn 150,000 miles in a week. It has had every single maintenance recommended by Ford since new. It goes in every 5000 miles for whatever it needs and goes in tomorrow for complete fluids change front to back. The only “broke fix” issue at 148,000 has been a grinding drive shaft center support bearing for which I had Ford install a complete new OEM shaft.
I could have gotten lucky and got a good one but I cannot say one bad word about this truck.
So that’s my recommendation whether you do the work or have it done. With 60+ years in maintenance on anything from lawn mower engines to Navy shipboard propulsion to 2400 megawatt nuclear reactors, I’m a firm believer in how well you take care of the machine determines how well the machine takes care of you……..
If I could put this at the top of the posts... I would. So true with any mechanical thing. Cheers @woodworker

Maybe new owners focus their attention on upgrades, like appearance, accessories, or modifications. While those choices shape the look and feel of a vehicle, long-term reliability and safety are often determined by basic maintenance habits that are easy to overlook.

Simple routines can make a meaningful difference, such as regularly checking tire condition and tire pressure, keeping the driver’s footwell clean to avoid interference with pedal operation, preventing dirt, sand, or moisture from accumulating inside the cabin or underbody, paying attention to the fit and safety of interior components, not just their appearance etc.
These details may seem minor at first, but over time, they directly affect driving safety, comfort, and vehicle lifespan.
