This probably isn’t the right place to put this but I know the general forum gets the most views. When I’m turning and put the steering wheel all the way to the left it makes a grinding noise. Other than that when I turn the wheel it is ok. The truck drives good. If it matters it’s a 2019 Lariat. Any idea what this could be? Truck only has 22k or so miles and I wanted to get some opinions before I take it to the dealer.

If tires are stock wheels, etc on front end?
Check the fender well liner or trim to see if tire is rubbing on it when on a hard turn.

The tires are not the originals but are Goodyears that are the same size. I’ll check to make sure to see if anything came off and is rubbing against the tire.

providing any suspension upgrades, if any, might get you more feedback.

Everything on the truck is stock except the air cleaner so it’s not due to any modifications on my end. I have replaced the stock tires so maybe something happened when they installed the new tires.

Where does the sound seem to be coming from? Is it inside the cab or from outside/in the engine bay?

2WD or 4WD? Does it grind when at a stop, or when rolling? If you are at a stand still and it grinds, it could be something in the electric power steering rack. If it grinds only when rolling, could be a bad bearing or CV if 4WD.

While parked on level ground, turn steering all the way to left, get out and examine if any part of the tire is rubbing on anything...if not, it could be something else like your CV joint?

Check your crash bars. Sometimes tires of the same size with different brands are slightly different with measured sizes. The crash bars can be loosened and bumped out.

Had similar issue on my 21 Lariat. Asked the dealer and they told me it was a known issue on the Rangers. They greased the steering stops or lock stops. Not sure what they are called, and it was fine for about 8 months or so. Hopefully that’s it because it was a simple fix on my truck. I just need to find the appropriate grease so I can do it myself from now on.

Definitely check everything already mentioned.

I had a weird grinding noise when turning at slow speeds and it ended up just being my Weather Tech mud flap wasn't fitting totally flat against the fender well and allowed the one tire to rub a little.
