I installed a USB and voltage meter plug today. I was wondering something when I cut the keys off the voltage meter is still on, so is that going to run my battery down.

Our resident retired Ford engineer Phil Schilke has commented on another thread about the outlets timing out after two hours. I wish I could remember what thread that was. I believe it was a question about 4-down towing and using the 12V for the toad brake without direct power from the battery.

I think ? it did because I came back out about 2 hours and the light was off.

I installed the same thing today. Went back out a little over a hour later and it was off. Pretty sure it is 75 minutes before it shuts off.

The time can be adjusted with ForSCAN if you want to.

Do you know what the maximum time setting is? This could mean I don't have to run a separate plug in for my toad brake system.

Hi Timothy,

Yep....I ran directly from the battery to the Add-A-Brake to avoid the time out issue as I will not being doing any Forscan adjustments. Works for me and we have 2000 miles of towing the Ranger behind the RV with no problems...

best,
