I have 2019 and I noticed my USB CarPlay hub “not” working correctly. It does work but I’m at a lost on why it works for some devices and not others?
Hopefully someone had this experience or has an idea of the problem. And fyi, Apple support is dogs#it and useless.
These are the issues.
Left USB:
Right USB:
I did a reset of the infotainment system, not factory reset, but I believe it’s up to date. I’ve disconnected and then re-paired my iPhone to the system, enabling Siri, still the same problems.
If I plug my radar detector into any of the two 12v sockets with a USB adapter, it works.
So any ideas on what is happening? Is it a faulty or failing USB hub, or what?

Left USB:
- Plug in my Apple data/charge cable for my iPhone 16 and CarPlay doesn’t work, but charging works.
- Plug in my radar detector cable, doesn’t power on the unit at all.
- If I plug different devices into this port to charge a device, it works.
Right USB:
- Plug in my radar detector and it powers on, no problem.
- Plug in my Apple data/charge cable for my iPhone 16 and CarPlay works good, but the trucks mic is not working, but only for calls and messaging apps. Do a voice recording use the app and mic works. To have a phone conversation, I have to disconnect the cable and use Bluetooth to have a conversation. My phone is up to date.
