What would a person expect for actual gains? With the stock numbers based off of 87 octane and the tune numbers based on 93 octane I've run 91 octane in my lariat since day 1. Will I really notice a large difference?

Asking if a tune will make a difference? Hell yes! No matter what gas one ran before or after. But with time high-octane runs better and is healthier for tuned engine. What would a person expect for actual gains? Something to pay attention to is withe 5 Star Tuning. The have dyno graphs with the factory tune on 87 and 93. Both are right about the same at the wheels even tho with 93 it has small gains. With that being said yes we will notice a gain with the Ford Performance Tune. I will also say that the Ford Performance Tune and other tunes like 5 Star are most likely safer than the JB4 that everyone is going crazy about because JB4 is a piggyback(liar to the pcm) and only helps to gain boost. If you are planning on towing and hauling loads I would personally recommend the Ford Performance Tune at the most. What would a person expect for actual gains? At the wheels, probably more. Got to remember that Ford originally has the Ranger rated at the crank for power. Ford Performance is probably the same or similar. Yes there is drivetrain loss, there always will be but from what they are claiming for over all improvements I believe it will be well worth it. It all comes down to what you want to do.If I'm already running premium can I only expect about 15hp and about 40lb torque?
What's the eta look like for public availability? Thanks!I've flashed my truck at this point with the FP cal, but I have a full tank of 87, and I'm taking a company car out of town for some testing, so I can't provide much feedback yet.
BUT, I've seen the raw calibration changes, and there are absolutely gains if you're already running 93.
I've also made a few of my own changes on top, but I can back them out for sake of comparison when I'm back in town.
And before you ask, I won't share anything. The cal is Ford Performance IP, and your money should go to them.
Also, keep in mind that Ford has usually underrated their HP/TQ figures after the debacle with the 1999 SVT Cobra. At the wheels, probably more. I'm not really connected to that side of things, so I'm not sure. Considering FedEx has lost 50% of my packages since Covid hit, who knowsWhat's the eta look like for public availability? Thanks!

Did you also use the K&N filter? Any thoughts on the FP specs as related to tire size and the tune? Meaning if you have stock 18's would you see some sort of adverse effects somewhere?I've flashed my truck at this point with the FP cal, but I have a full tank of 87, and I'm taking a company car out of town for some testing, so I can't provide much feedback yet.

To help you out it says you can go to a 265/70-17. That is also equivalent to a 265/65-18. Go to a tire size calculator and it will show you and explain it.Did you also use the K&N filter? I didn't purchase the official kit, so I don't have the filter.Did you also use the K&N filter? Any thoughts on the FP specs as related to tire size and the tune? Meaning if you have stock 18's would you see some sort of adverse effects somewhere?
