If you didn’t know already, the way Ford has the intelligent charging system setup it only gets to 75% of total capacity before it stops topping up the charge. This is something you can change in Forscan.

Well the verdict is in... its my dashcam causing the issue. According to Ford documentation, a continuous draw of more than 20 miliamps will throw off the battery calibration. To fix i need to remove the hardwire kit and it will return to normal in 7 to 10 days. I will try and post the documentation if the dealer prints me a copy.

FYI ... I was not charged even though its not a warranty issue. They said no one knew about it so it was a good learning experience for them.

Thanks for the update. I don't think I have anything plugged in, unless it is the wifi connection to my house or AT&T connection.

And here is the documentation regarding my situation.

Thanks for the details. The only electrical add-ons that I have are Alpha Rex headlights with the DRL connection and the Raptor grill LEDs. Both of those have been installed for months, and I think they are plug-n-play. I’ll definitely check my negative terminal though.

Anyone ever figure out anymore with this? I get 14.99v when truck is running so the alternator seems ok but I get the deep sleep message 2-5 minutes after shutting the truck off. Service department said the battery tested OK and it's the apps fault....

It worked for over a year and I haven't added or changed any accessories.

@Trigganometry could you point me to the settings to change in forscan?

I don't want fight with the dealership and I'm not putting a battery in a truck that belongs to Ford(lease)

90 solves the apparent issue? Did you try lower?
Time will tell. It still uses the intelligent charge system this way so duty cycles at higher percentages will be lower. It’s the reserves and cranking amps on reserve when needed I’m more interested in. Colder temperatures where I’m at.

Tried to adjust the charge target before work today. Need to get another extended license, took over an hour for it to be emailed... Guess I'll try again tomorrow

I also had to extend my license, but it came right away. I set it to 80. No difference so far, but I've only had short trips since then.

I set mine to 85% and put on a trickle charger. Was on the charger for about 2 hours then drove 30 minutes to work. Still got the message within 5 minutes of parking.

Here's my latest update. I set the target charge to 85%, disconnect my light bar from the battery and put a battery tender on for 12 hours. Light was green in the tender when I took it off Saturday. Later that evening we drove 30 minutes to get dinner and do a little shopping then another 30 minutes back. Everything worked as it should(no deep sleep when parking). Today Sunday I didn't drive anywhere and got the message in the evening.

I reached out to ford customer service and they put me in touch with a specialist. They offered to make a service appointment for me for a "full diagnosis" I won't have time for that for at least a week but I'll report back when I get it in for service again.
