I have a 2021 Ranger SCAB STX Edition that came with 265/60R18 wheels that I changed to 265/70R17. I went with Ford OEM "Raptor, other than US" performance parts for the rims (Ford P/N M-1007K-RGR1785OR).

The 265/70R17 wheels have beaucoup sidewall for airing down (if that is your intention). If you are going to use off-road tires, they could make your wheels rather heavy. I use A/T Goodyear Steadfast HT tires because my use case is mainly deep beach sand (and paved roads). No rock-hopping for me.

How would they do that? Do they have a tool that they go in and do it through obd port? Can any tire shop theoretically be able to do such a thing?
Don't know how they did it they had a tech that did it, but I think that is the only way thru the obd port.

Hello!

I am new to the Ranger Forum, recently got my 2020 XLT and I am thinking about upgrading the tires soon. I have done quite a bit of reading on this forum and havent seen too many people go with the above mentioned tire size.

My stock size is 255/65/r17. I know going to 70 isnt a huge difference but I just want something slightly taller that fills out the wheel wells. I am assuming going with 255/70/r17 will have no issues in terms of rubbing, but hoping I can get some feedback and confirmation with this change. I do not have a lift, just stock suspension and dont have plans to add a lift for a little while because $$$ (hoping I wont need to add spacers or do anything with the offset of the wheel).

One other question - if I get a taller tire, will that affect how much I am able to tow or have in the bed of the truck at all because of the taller tire? Never owned a truck before so just curious.

Thanks in advance for the help!

No suspension mods or need for leveling when I changed from factory STX 265/60 R18" wheels to 265/70 R17" wheels.
