  1. Midsize FORD Pickup EV - Ranger, Maverick, Something Else?

I was hoping for Maverick to get a second battery for years (PHEV). It would be too practical if it had that I guess. With just one battery, it is just a better-gas-mileage-commuter-car (with a huge trunk). I gave up and now I have a true 4x4 (not just AWD). My $25K 4x4 Ranger STX offers range...
  2. 2019-23 Ford Ranger Custom Leather Seat Covers

I don't think that any Corinthians were skinned in the creation of these vegan pleather seat covers.... The more important question as I edge towards 70 years young: does a fart onto them rip with vibrato like leather or squeal and die like a poot onto burlap?
  3. Advice for driving on the beach!

If you are not driving down a tidal beach it may not be an issue but if the beach is affected by tides, make sure you know when they are and how much your location will be affected. Everyone likes to go out on Cape Point until there is no way back to the main beach. Then it gets real.
  4. Upgrades vs MPG

At some point it is no longer is MPG and becomes PPM... "poverty per mile." That said, I do think my truck likes midgrade much better than regular (likes premium too but not remarkably better than midgrade). My MPG is 20 with midgrade BP.
  5. Tires Size Question: 255/70/r17

No suspension mods or need for leveling when I changed from factory STX 265/60 R18" wheels to 265/70 R17" wheels.
  6. It's Official, but different

I am "in the short rows." I am having my house renovated before leaving the workforce. I want that to be done (and paid for) before I quit. I too am in IT and the company I work for was taken over by a hedge fund. My "new hire" RSUs are completely vested in September. Retirement is on track. DEI...
  7. 265/65R18 or 265/70 or 275/65?

What are you going to do with it? Are you going to air down to go off roading or is it just to have a more aggressive stance whilst getting pizza and ice cream? Stuffing a very wide tire on a very tall rim (or with large sidewalls) could interfere with airing down would be my concern. This is...
  8. radio

I am in this predicament as well. I'd like to improve the sound quality of the system without adding an amp. My STX has an 8' screen and I don't want to spend more than needed to get better treble and a little better sound isolation. From what I have read so far, the front tweeter and the front...
  9. Tires Size Question: 255/70/r17

I have a 2021 Ranger SCAB STX Edition that came with 265/60R18 wheels that I changed to 265/70R17. I went with Ford OEM "Raptor, other than US" performance parts for the rims (Ford P/N M-1007K-RGR1785OR). The 265/70R17 wheels have beaucoup sidewall for airing down (if that is your intention)...
  10. 2.7L added to the 'Build and Price'

I waited for three years. I gave up on waiting for a workable Maverick PHEV 4x4 pickup. Most available "4x4s" are actually only brake-assisted AWD anyway. In my imagination, a PHEV 4x4 pickup wouldn't be a "rock hopper" though it could be a good beach truck. The options are thin though as the...
  11. What State Are You From?

Where are you moving to here in NC? I Have lived from the foothills to the coast. It is a great place to be. I take it that you have people/family here on this end?
  12. What State Are You From?

I am from a rural part of the Pee Dee region of SC. I grew up outside of Hartsville, SC but that process continued for years as I travelled. Putting it all in... places that I have lived (for over a year): Born a military brat in Tacoma, WA; raised in the rural Pee Dee region of SC. I grew up...
