Good point. And our shocks are notoriously shitty from jump. When the tires are replaced I'd do a rear shock upgrade as well.Bad rear shocks can cause it.

I had winter tires for the life of my previous Escape (about 12 years), and swapped the tires twice a year (got oil changed at the same time); not only do proper winter tires hold up much better in our northern climate, but you end up drastically extending the life of your tires since you're only using them for half of the year. When I got the Ranger, they tried to sell me a "rim & tire package" where they'll replace them 10x at no charge; I countered with asking for winter tires with winter rims instead, since they're a "will need" rather than a "might need" for us. In the end, I got what I wanted, and they threw in the package as well.Much appreciated guys.
Yes they are inflated 38 as per door.
Funny thing is, with my sport car I had to argue with the dealership NOT to rotate, as I was doing it.
I never asked to rotate as I thought they would have done it, silly me.
I'm thinking of getting dedicated winter tires anyway, lets see tomorrow.
I did not think these were bad tires but not great either.
just use the factory rims for the snow there ugly anyway and get a great set of 3 season rims ..I had winter tires for the life of my previous Escape (about 12 years), and swapped the tires twice a year (got oil changed at the same time); not only do proper winter tires hold up much better in our northern climate, but you end up drastically extending the life of your tires since you're only using them for half of the year. If you do get winter tires, get a set of winter rims for them; they generally look like shit, but they'll stand up to the rock salt a hell of a lot better than your "summer" rims. Also, it'll make changing them out much quicker and easier; you can do them at home, or if you bring it to a shop, you'll probably pay about 1/4 of the cost in labor to put on already-rim-mounted tires vs. having them swap which tires are on the rim. Mine are a shitty-looking matte grey, so I'm thinking about painting them black; the Escape had black ones, and they looked a hell of a lot better.
?I have had several sets of Hankook tires. All been very good tires. I am currently at 18K on mine and they still look new. What's with the Hankook hate? I'm at 47k on the factory tires. It's time to replace them but to get that far on an A/T tread was pretty impressive to me.
Best advice i have seen all dayRip a bunch of donuts and say goodbye to those tires and buy something better
They offer miniscule amounts of grip in the snow is my main complaint. What's with the Hankook hate? I'm at 47k on the factory tires. It's time to replace them but to get that far on an A/T tread was pretty impressive to me.
I have done my own oil changes. Like a dope, I did not rotate the tires (full size spare, wheel matched truck wheels, 295/70-17 Toyo Open Country Tires on 17x10 wheels, +55mm Offset) = cupping. I cannot blame the tires because I did not rotate the tires until 15,000miles on the tires. Aack. If there was a place that could buff the cups out that would be great (ya, I know reduced tread depth) As it is, I can drive under 65mph and no jiggle. I prefer running my tires 'till they are down to legal min tread depth. Not sure I will be able to tolerate the vibration induced speed limit Not my Daily Driver, so at least not a daily bother.Folks,
Still new at this truck thing, I have the Hankook Dynapro atm tires all terrain , snowflake/3peak tires which came with the truck.
1 -RearFront tires cupping, maybe Misaligned ? edit
2- Rear tires way more used then front.
3 - 35k km. All highway.
I moved front to back. I'm a little upset that the dealer never rotated my tires. I usually do the rotation but since I brought it to the dealer
I figured they would do it.
At a shop I was talking about the truck tires cupping(not which tires) as they were doing an alignment on my car & they told me, 'rear tires cupping?'.
They proceeded to tell me to inflate my tires to 50, already at 38. I mentioned the ride would be affected & they said yes but your tires will wear
properly.
So, I've been on this site for a while & have read the opposite for comfort but what about tire wear?
Guess I'll be going in for an alignment soon.
Was at dealer today for recall & mentioned my issue, they seemed to understand & now I get to talk to the service supervisor tomorrow, lets see where
this goes as I think they should have rotated my tires at the second oil change last march.
