Bought a yellow Auxito H11 led fog replacement bulb. I found but one or two install videos on YT, where they simply reached straight up behind the bumper to access the fog light.
Not on an FX4 you can’t, I can confirm. Combo of bottom wind fairing and skid plate render access impossible.
I first removed one wind fairing.. spoiler, this didn’t help.
Remove the skid plate (assuming you’re an FX4 owner) and you have imperfect but just doable access to the rear of the fog light, from a 45 degree angle from the center of your bumper up and out towards the fog light. Even still, you cannot bend your fingers to naturally grasp and twist out the bulb holder.
I’ll report back on performance in the dark. Its light out quite late and I didn’t bother finding a dark stretch of road last night. In full daylight, from outside my garage facing in, those LEDs bathed my back garage wall in yellow light.
So, skid removal required for FX4 models, which was surprisingly easy to do. 4 bolts, not hard to manage laying on your back.
