*** ANNOUNCEMENT ***

As regular attending forum members know, the Neighborhood Damper Selection Committee has been threatenin...er suggesting? that my truck was in special need of damnpering ?.
After millions of messages (e.g.

)

After careful and agonizing consideration, I decided that the rescue buddies are going to be in real need and made the decision to buy a damper, just so Dave (@AzScorpion ) can make the donation happen. Here's the screen shot of the purchase today:

Now that this battle royal is over and before I lose my Bluto like arm muscles, we'll need to find a replacement. Besides, what's life without a little Tastes Great, Less Filling happening... watch Smokin Joe 'splain it to you.

Ima gunna go cry now...:crying:

But you should consider a small donation to any animal rescue organization as a mod :like:
Nooooo! Terry (@FoD), I was counting on you to pull me back from the precipitous! Fortunately, my Ranger brought me back to my senses.

I went out to the garage and told him the hammer on the bumper story thinking that would convince him and he blew a gasket! His take was that I wanted to inflict a slow and agonizing tailgate munching as opposed to a quick and merciful tailgate munching. Now he has threatened ten times as much fuel in the crankcase oil and I am getting the silent treatment. He is right and I was dreadfully wrong.

My moment of weakness has left me deeply ashamed and embarrassed. I refuse to allow these brainwashing schemes to affect my judgment in the future.

Terry, pleeeeeese, reconsider this decision and cancel that order! Dave’s brainwashing techniques are powerful and wear you down over time but we must continue the resistance! Cancel that damper order!

Hi Terry,

I have become fluent in Gila Monster. We have quite a few crossing one of the roads on which we walk for exercise. These Glia Monsters are occasionally plodding across the road... So I stand in the road and get the cars to pass around me and protect the Gila Monster. Sometimes the Gila Monster decides to stop and turn around, open its mouth and emit a loud hiss. I have found out that I can out hiss them, they shut their mouth...turn around and kick it in to high gear and get off the road. I have only grabbed one behind the front legs to move it...their beaded skin is really cool to touch... Funniest was a super tiny Gila Monster that was in our outer yard beyond the wall where we keep Tito...our Tortoise. It opened its mouth and sort of hissed but being only about 3" long there was no audible sound. It was so cute... We just left it alone and it went on its way back into the desert on the edge of which we live.

Best,

For us it’s turtles, snapping turtles primarily and there are some huge ones. I have stopped many times to protect the turtles. Sometimes you help them across the road and other times you just protect them with your vehicle or redirect cars around them. The snapping turtles you have to be real careful with, if you try and help them.

I never did see any Gila Monsters in my time In AZ. I saw a few rattle snakes, lots of other lizards, a fair number of javelinas, a few scorpions and lots of coyotes and especially rabbits. Also saw some killer bees and was chased by a few of them. Roadrunners were always cool to see.

You're next bud, you just don't realize it yet. Now that Terry has bowed to "Damperonious" the God of all things tailgate, you cannot fight it anymore. Make your order now, be one of the cool kids. You know you want too.

Terry, you have been my rock and inspiration for months. And now, my hero, has been corrupted in the worst possible way. :rain: :crying: You can still return, it is not to late. A few mouse clicks is all it takes to cancel that order. I’m begging you, please come back and resume your inspirational leadership. :please::flag:

It's to late he's already found heaven with his newest mod. Besides once he installs the damper he then has to do the walk of shame and post pictures showing everyone how he caved I mean finally woke up. ?

Well, guess you oughta know that it was all a sham/scam to get Dave to become a foster home to the AZ needy Gila monsters.

I must say, he went for it in the way we all expected and now he'll be buying 100# bangs of Gila crunch food just so he can keep his toes and @ 157.56 quid per bag, that Bronco is fast getting out of reach.

Wait till the gf sees the first Gila roomy

Well played you folks, well played.?
