The teacher was fresh out of school, 1st year teacher and obviously didn’t have kids. Well that little revelation led to questioning the Tooth Fairy and Santa and led to some explaining by us. She did manage to not spoil it for her sister for a few years... That teacher was still my daughters favorite.
Great story!?I STILL BELIEVE!!!!
I saw santa as a kid.
We lived in ft Collins, co. We had a 3 story home. I slept in the basement, it was half in half out of the ground. Stairs went down straight to a bathroom room to the left and right. Well, i must have been 7,8,9? something like that. Well the tree was up the stairs of the basement. Main floor had garage living room kitchen top floor had bedrooms bathroom and family room.
So anyway. I heard a door open and close and a bag rustling. Sounded like plastic. Then i heard the ornaments on the tree moving. So i crawled up the stairs.
THERE HE WAS!! BIG RED COAT AND TAKING GIFTS OUT OF THE BAG!
It was dark, but i could see the collar and the cuffs silhouette. My heart pounded and i wanted to say hi. I did not though. I was scared if i did that he would run away. So i waited for him to finish. When he was done, he left out the garage door??
So i ran back to bed and layed down. After some noises i heard the garage door again and lay in bed. So after a while it got quiet and i ran upstairs to see what he left. He left the gifts ran downstairs and went to bed.
In the morning i was excited, told my parents and my sister i saw santa!!! My parents just stared at each other with an okay.... look on there faces. I said i saw the bag coat everything. Best christmas ever!!
Well, our garage was unfinished. You could see the frame of it. My father would keep stuff on top of some plywood in the attic of the unfinished garage. He was also a cement truck driver. And he had a big red wool coat, with a big collar and cuffs. I am sure if my father ever needed to grab something in the middle of the night from the garage he would grab his big warm wool red coat.
But for that year and the many that followed, i saw santa and nothing could persuade me otherwise. So if you ever see santa, just let him be, let him do his thing.
Or the magic will go away.
Sure glad i did not spook him. Story could have ended different.
