String cutting some trails yesterday. The top photo shows maple shoots we cut each year, before and after. No big deal for 155 string.

Arlyn, you all dealing with an over abundance of ticks in Houghton County? I was up in the U.P. earlier this month....went out with my dad to check our hunting spot in NW Delta County....went about 10 yards in and had to turn around and leave. Within that short distance we already had numerous ticks on us.

To the foothills this morning for a bike ride. 6:30am - 68 degrees - very slight breeze - partly overcast...the morning desert environment is breathtaking! Parking lot deserted...saw 1 hiker and several bikers.

On the ride home spotted a deer in a front yard. After seeing me she went behind a fence and watched me until I left...made my day... ?

Arlyn, you all dealing with an over abundance of ticks in Houghton County? I was up in the U.P. earlier this month....went out with my dad to check our hunting spot in NW Delta County....went about 10 yards in and had to turn around and leave. Within that short distance we already had numerous ticks on us.

Delta is far, far from us but ticks are out here. Over a month ago they were quite bad but have improved much since. We do wear Sawyer (product SP657) Permethrin treated clothing while working in the woods. Stuff works.

For those who like stream machines. As we came home from northern MN yesterday, we stopped in Proctor MN for lunch and picnicked next to this beast. The Baldon 225 seemed to have the 4 rear divers attached to the frame while the front truck had articulation. It has a 4-4 driver system. In the lowest detail photo you can see the steam pipe connection to the front drive truck allowing movent. That pipe was about 6" in diameter. The tenders front truck also articulated. I worked as a carmen for several car companies over the years.

Not as big as the locomotives but still impressive that these old steam tractors have been preserved and are still operational.
This is from the National Threshers Show in Wauseon Ohio this weekend. There must have been 25 or 30 of them.

Encounterd this on the road.
Sorry no pics when I was in the side of him, roads are so terrible here you can't let go of the wheel in certain areas.

Fully restored as a daily driver, not some pristine showroom detail. Paint was clean but not mirror like, bumpers had some pitting.

Imo a restored daily driver will always trump a stupid waste of space showroom pony.
Mirror like finish on a classic? Get outta here. I wanna see some blemishes.
