Doe Mnt isn't a long hike but it's very rocky and a lot of climbing in some areas which was tough for my gf with her bad knee but she's a champ and made it to the top! Once at the top you can walk the whole shelf and the views on the backside of awesome.

Hi Dave,

Wife and I did this hike before we got old and knees and hips quit working.... Love Sedona in the summer. Winter...not so great.... Chose not to live there after a winter visit....Margie got caught up in one of the dreaded Vortex's too.... :)

Hi Phil,

The trail wasn't to bad until you got to the last 20 minutes or so. My gf even surprised herself doing it with her bad knee and I'm lucky to still not have any issue just yet. Sedona is still a madhouse right now, it's bumper to bumper just trying to get into town that's why we stay in Cornville. It's only about 15 minutes away and we're at a resort right on the golf course for a fraction of the cost and no traffic to deal with.

We really wanted to do Devils Bridge but there's just way to many people over there. The parking lot was full and the cars were parked a good mile down Dry Creek Rd. Fay & Doe mountain have a lot of good hikes around them and then you have the Honanki Ruins not to far away.

Spent our last day of vacation (yesterday) up in Jerome which is an old copper mining town. It was once the 4th largest city in AZ in the 20’s at 15,000 population but today only 450 live there. Now it’s a small touristy area full of small shops and a few restaurants. Rumor has it is haunted there too.

One of the more popular places to eat there. The picture doesn’t do this carrot cake any justice but this sucker weighs about 2 lbs!

Seems you are having a good trip.
The Jerome Grand Hotel used to be the hospital before turning it into a hotel; they say it is haunted. I stayed there and also ate at the Haunted Hamburger and never saw or heard a single ghost.

It was a great trip but like always way to short. I do get spoiled having places like this right in our backyard so to speak, It's only 90 minutes from me. IIRC the tv show Ghost Hunters did a show up in Jerome but I don't think they saw any ghost either. lol ?

Winter is hanging on

Feels like winter here this morning. We went from 100/68 a couple days ago to 82/56. ? Crazy weather here for this time of year as it's never this cool towards the end of May. It's a nice break from what's about to come for the next 4 months. ?
