So I have had no interest in the new bronco, i like the old broncos and might have my hands on a '68 soon... But my local dealer got a demo 2 door outter-banks sasquatch a few weeks ago and I had a buddy in town and we said screw it lets drive that thing.... Well i believe in test driving in a conditions that i would actually use the vehicle so out we went to some desert rocky trails with a 'no joke' hill climb in the area.
The GOAT 4wd system is well..... impressive. We had that thing pointed down the mountain expecting to fight the down hill with brakes and steering, nope, when you take your foot off the gas, the whole powertrain stops in its tracks with no noise, no slipping, no anything, it was like time stood still. So after realizing i didnt break anything, we go up the hill climb and im expecting the standard pedal to the floor slip slide dukes of hazard you get in an old pickup truck, nope, this thing crawled at leisure straight up with ZERO slip, slide or spin of the wheels. I took my foot of the gas and bam, complete smooth stop with zero noise, slip, anything, just us looking at the sky. I jumped out an told my buddy he had to drive it up the hill climb, its hard to actually explain to someone else.
The Bronc was a solid ride, stiff but smooth, tons of power, we took it out on the side roads and hammered down, no complaints in the tranny or power department. The interior was badAs$, grab handles at the ends of the dash and center console, felt like an off road machine with a Cadillac powertrain system. I could yack about it all day, just saying, if the dealer had any on the lot, I would have asked for my trade-in value, not because i dont like my ranger, but was just blown away by the Bronco...... Dealer said they are 70 orders in the Red, and dont expect to fill anything after that until 2024 .... So doesn't matter anyway....
