Elon haters be hating on the greatest innovator of all time. OH and he's surrounded by Can-Do Engineers and designers that don't have H1B Visas. This man and his companies are humiliating the legacy aerospace and automotive manufacturers. They're so far advanced than anyone else. This is what happens when you take off the shackles and just Do It!

Anyone seen the Tesla Bot videos? He's got the factory already. In Communist California of all places. Place your orders. Forget this car. It's the Robot that will revolutionize our world. Robot much cheaper than a Tesla car.
The car is cool. The Elon worship is weird.

0-60 in 0.81 seconds

Underbody fans that produce 2G of downforce (yes, it can drive upside down)

Targeted top speed of mach .5 ~380 mph.

And oh yeah, it can fly.

Impressive demo.

I should've bought more Tesla stock.

The talking starts at 5 minutes. The demo at 10 minutes.

Yep. Plenty of money = Plenty of skill. Right?
Just in case that plenty of money doesn't have quite enough skill, Musk will be blamed.

BUT.....it's lectric.....what happens if it runs out of lectric juice while it's uppty up ?????
The poofy jets must need some power to operate them....open valves or something.......
Also, his vehicles regularly catch on fire and hit other vehicles while self driving.....would you really trust his engeneering ??????

Elon is all about over promising and under delivering..... I used to think he was a visionary but others have helped me realize he isn't really all that smart - he is really good at surrounding him with very smart, creative people and letting them do their thing.

But to answer your question - no I would not trust the engineering on this. I keep going back to the reveal of the Cybertruck and the demonstration of the "armored" windows - when they tossed a ball at it, the windows shattered - and it wasn't even thrown very hard:

It is flash over substance, IMO - I can only imagine what is going to happen with those thrusters if/when they ever get released into the world for any yahoo with more money than brains to use.

Your "flying" in your new Tesla when it runs out of juice.....
You take your hands off the wheel so you can pray....and now it's self driving.....
It crashes into a low flying plane....
And it catches fire on the way down.........:turkey:

You know SpaceX launches don't blow up anywhere near as much as you imply, right?

As of October 16, 2026, SpaceX has conducted 118 Falcon family vehicle launches (116 Falcon 9 and 2 Falcon Heavy) in 2026. When including Starship missions, the company has completed 120 total launches for the year, achieving its tracked annual goal.

  • Company Projection: SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell projected approximately 140 to 145 Falcon 9 launches for 2026.
  • Industry Estimates: Analysts and prediction markets forecast a total of 140 to 180 missions, with an FAA regulatory cap limiting total annual authorizations to 195.
  • Recent Milestones: The company launched its 100th mission of the year in August 2026 and surpassed 700 total Falcon family missions globally in September 2026.
