.Due the extreme heat and drought here, tailgating has been made illegal at ball games, welli saw this thread and was really hoping it was about grilling, drinking, and playing cornhole in a parking lot. What a disappointment.

I thought soWith the rake of the truck, it doesn't appear to me to be that bad. At least we can see the top of the grill and lights.

The more illegals get driver licenses (or not get them) the more insurance is going to be useless. Just another tax to drive.https://www.rexingusa.com/product/v1p-pro/
Yes it is $150 to $225 depending if they are running a sale.
Yes it means you are paying to protect yourself from something you shouldn't have to or from someone who should be more courteous and responsible..
As someone who has been involved in 6 rear end collisions, one of them pretty stout and all of them while I was completely sitting still waiting for a green light, I can tell you that there will come a day after an accident where you would eagerly pay $500 just to make all of the problems go away.
It's cheap insurance to help your insurance insure you.
And since you are paying your insurance to insure you, wouldn't you want to make it easier for them to cut through the other guys red tape and bull schiesse?
Fortunately I haven't had to use mine yet, but my wife was in an accident and it would have made it a LOT easier if she had been running a cam.
When I was a kid we had an old Nash Rambler with the foot operated sprayer. The nozzles were way off and one day while waiting for mom at the store, a guy was getting into the car next to us and I sprayed the guy in the neck. Oh the look on his face! He never figured out where it came from.I had an old Z with the rear window washer, was able to easily adjust it up with a pin so it sprayed like 10 feet back. I had quite a few laughs with that...not just spraying tailgaters either. I kept asking friends to check if my brake lights were out.![]()
That had to be aggravating!Few years back our Explorer was rear ended by a rented car being driven by someone that didn't rent the car. Talk about a cluster, told their insurance I JUST wanted my wife to be seen by a Dr, previous neck surgery, & my Explorer fixed. Just needed new bumper brackets to realign the bumper. After month of back & forth they agreed. Then they called to say they are cutting me a check for $400 "aggravation pay". I said whatever, just wanted it to be done. We cashed the check on Thursday, on Friday we came out from visiting MIL at rest home & someone had run into the back of our car caving in the bumper corner and left the scene. No cameras in the area. Insurance has $500 deductible, repairs were $500 so the aggravation pay went to fixing the car.
One company I worked for paid thousands of bucks to send me to a https://www.drivedifferent.com . This course's answer to tailgaters, heavy traffic, bad road conditions, or just about anything was "increase your following distance."The closer they get, the slower I go. Eventually, they get the message. Emergency flashers help, too.
That's one of those "it depends" things. For the most part a steel bumper can keep your vehicle from soaking up damage, but once it exceeds a certain threshold, it will bend the frame, but it would have bent the frame if you had a squeeshy stock bumper too. Totaled is Totaled at some point. The best thing is going to be having a big truck, either lifted, with a big hitch or steel bumpers so the impact doesn't damage much. Since they will probably be driving a Hyundai or Kia!
Edit: Although I remember hearing the steel bumpers can just transfer impact to the frame damaging it more so probably a bit of research is in order before spending the dough.
I’ve been known to use a half tank of washer fluid on a tailgater.
