Don't out tailgates all lock already?
Yes, but the handle seems flimsy. It's the same style that's used on the driver and passenger side on the older Rangers. No telling if someone can use an antenna while holding the handle up and popping the lock.

the circle of life of a tailgate...

A tailgate gets stolen.
bob is saddened that anyone would do such a thing. cries at his stupidity for parking in a dark alley.
bob doesn't want to go through insurance for fear his rates increase.
bob looks at price of new + color matched paint. faints. cries a little more
bob searched pawn shop, and ebay and finds a tailgate that matches his color perfectly.
bob buys it and installs it, so happy the color is a perfect match

bobs tailgate gets stolen again......
I had a friend that had a Datzun 300zx with removable "T" tops. They were stolen. His insurance wouldn't pay for new ones, they said he had to find some in a junk yard. He found some that (surprise, surprise) matched perfectly, right down to a scratch that was on his original ones!! What a deal!!!

Hi Drew,

What you state is true about powertrips...Our board is 5 members of which they are all POS. However, we have a management company that now effectively neuters their personal agendas, like my next door neighbor. That said. We have no cars on cement blocks parked in the driveway for example Car collector on the next street up had to construct another attached garage with hoists to hold his 8 cars...nothing in the driveway. I was the webmaster for the HOA for 8 years...all I got from that service was an AMF. Now the website is a repository of useless and obsolete info. Oh well, I head to my shop and create or fix and my wife slings paint on her canvas. We have our circle of friends and they also are in the love/hate opinion on our HOA.

Here is a pix of a lamp I made for a neighbor out of a piece of the mesquite stump I used for my dining room table. Lamp harp is too long but her intended shade will maybe be okay...otherwise the shade will over power the lamp base...Decided in a turquoise inlay in the crack in the base...The black looking oval holes are from Mesquite worms and the cracks are part of the character of the mesquite wood. The color (colour? eh?) is natural as the clear finish is clear tung oil. The color will be much richer in a few years. Not a business as the HOA states as I give this stuff away...Next door neighbor on the board wants to so bust me but has on grounds on which to stand as I do not sell out of my house. Margie and I do sell out of the Tubac Center of the Arts, an artist community 20 miles South of us, but the HOA has no power over this...

All in all...I agree...HOAs suck!

Nice, On the lamp and the HOA. Failed disgruntled people who failed at running for any type of office, so all their agression is on their own neighbors.

Screw HOAs. They are a joke in most areas. We have one just to make sure people don't start putting farm animals in the back yards. But the builders here do not make garages deep enough to do squat with. I can barely get my Ranger in my garage and if I do, cannot completely walk around it. So when I work on my truck, I have to only get it in partially if I want any space to work. Good for mid size or compacts probably.
THIS is why I had to buy a Ranger and not an F150. Ranger just barely fits in my garage and allows door to shut. Can't get my big self around either end of it unless I open the garage door.
3-car garage is just big enough for the truck and my wife's Edge so that our doors don't bang something when we open them. And we're not packrats, so there's not a lot of ancillary stuff hanging out in the garage.

I’ve heard so many horror stories from friends who have them, I would never in my life subject myself to that.

Phil,

nice lamp my man!

I’d honestly last a week with a HOA. I’ve heard such insane stories: getting fined for not green enough grass, getting angry threatening letters for kids playing outside, fines for grass to y’all or grass to short, threatening letters over changing oil in the driveway, fines for painting the house a shade darker or lighter than allowed, I could write you a book on what my friends and family have been through with HOA. I’d rather pass and live in the bed of my ranger thanks.

Man y’all have to have the patience of a saint dealing with that. Once I get my workshop set up come on up and go to town. Closest neighbor is over 500’ away. All I ask is a legit lamp

ha! Rescued two of em from a shelter. She’s named Jerry (don’t ask me) the other is named Moose. They’re two peas in a pod. They were bonded and we only found out after we signed the paperwork they were on day 89/90. They’re living their best life now and will as long as I get up on the right side of the dirt every day.

She loves going for any kind of ride in the Ranger. Him he’s a big baby and hates any moving vehicle. Don’t judge the dirty floors or my inability to get photos to rotate properly.

Nothing like the love of a rescue mutt. We have two also. Would never have anything else!
