I am looking into tailgate ramp to be able to load and unload my snowblower and mower in the bed of my 22 2wd Scab. Anybody make a set and if so, how long were the ramps? Thanks in advance.

Tractor supply sells metal end pieces you can put on 2x8 to make your own
I might give this a try. I'd like to try to get my zero turn mower into the bed but the measurements are so tight that I don't want to drop coin on nice ramps only to learn that the mower won't fit and I have no use for them.

I have 7ft folding ramps because i wanted them to fit in the bed with the tailgate closed.
Never had them slip out when loading the lawn tractor, but the angle of the dangle is touchy enough that you want to keep some weight forward, otherwise it will wheelie on you.
Loading my snow blower kicked one ramp out once, but it was icy as sh*t.
No damage, but blower had a short nap on its side while i looked around to see if any neighbors saw my fail.

Hey Nate,

Something to consider as well…

While the curved ramps keep you from high-centering the mower’s cutting deck, the wheel wells can cause an issue. I moved my lawn tractor in my 4g and the curved ramps were needed but I had to remove the cutting deck to clear the wheel humps in the bed. A permanent solution might involve a platform in the truck bed.

that's my main concern. I might be able to make it work with regards to the deck between the wheel wells if I back the mower up the ramps so that the cutting deck sits behind the wheel wells. and why I don't want to spend $200 on good ramps to test this out. Would be easier to test if I had a friend with ramps so I didn't have to buy anything to try it.

I'm just looking for a solution that'll let me save a few bucks on taking the mower in for its annual service rather than paying the shop to pick it up and return it. HOA rules and trailers....I've already got a small camper in my garage, so space for a utility trailer is limited. Have also considered one of the fold-up trailers that takes up less floor space.

I have 2 options: the heavy-duty safety planks (hmmm...wonder where I got them??). 2x10x7 footers, and aluminum 11" w x 6 foot, foldable. Yard Sale find, cheap! They say 500 lbs (ea) rating, but I prefer the planks. The aluminum is diamond plate finish and not slippery, even when wet. Used for my roto tiller. My JD 540 won't fit in Pepper's bed with the deck on.
