Depends if you need more interior space and/or a back seat. I had two SC's before, then my kids got too big so I got a Sport Trac and then another one. Now my kids are grown and gone and I couldn't tell you the last time someone rode in the back seat of my old Trac so I opted to get a longer bed.

They are selling enough Scabs to justify them. They will sell even less of the 7' Bed single cab, but for the 6G model Ford will produce them.
Where are you seeing this?

Single cab trucks have all but disappeared.

They have an advantage of being 200lbs lighter then the Screw. For the people thinking Ford will make a long bed Screw, there has been no evidence of a longer frame. Does not look like it will be offered. Scab has more room for gear in the bed to off road. If you wish to sleep in the bed while off roading its doable. Bears will be nibbling on your feet in the Screw.

Ford makes a regular cab with a 7' bed in Europe and South America.

I totally agree the 4 door trucks look bad. This is my second Scab (the other is a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2WD which I still have and special ordered with the V6) and like most that got them don't need a full 4 door truck. I like the longer bed and easy access to the rear. I got lucky when I was shopping for my Ranger. The dealer I was wanting to make a deal with was $2000 less than another dealer for my trade in. The other dealer found just what I was looking for a iconic silver Super Cab Lariat at another dealer across town. I saw that baby and said perfect she's mine. :like:

In the past I’ve always owned extended cabs, but having a pandemic baby changed that. 1st crew cab truck I’ve owned. I got his child seat in the center so he sits like a king and can see out the windows unlike his moms car.

First, I'm in Canada, which means, as most of you probably know, there are no such things as: 1. Lariat SCab, and 2. Two-wheel drive ranger, in any model (I'm referring to 5G only). (Unless you order from USA, have it delivered in US,A then import it to Canada.)

With that said, I researched for a long time then ordered my Ranger exactly as I wanted it, which in my case is SCab, as I spend most of my backroad time solo, I sleep in in it when camping Solo (I have a DAC tailgate tent, made in the USA) and in town it's never more than myself and my wife onboard.

I wanted the 6' bed for my overnights in the truck, and luckily I much prefer the look of the SCab.

All in all, I couldn't be happier with my SCab, but that's me. You gotta do what's right for you.

Same here SmokeyTBear. I'm up in Canada as well and I have no need for 4 doors as it's just me and the GF. I custom ordered mine in an XLT 302A which is the highest trim available on the XLT. I would have preferred to step up to the Lariat Scab but no dice on the Canadian version.

Hi Chonger,
Yep, I got the same trim as you (XLT and 302A) and I'm really happy I did. In my case I would have got the XLT, even if the Lariat was available in SCab in Canada, because I dislike leather seats and the Lariat gives no cloth option. In any case, I hope you're enjoying yours as much as I'm enjoying mine!
Last week was a trip to Walbran / Carmanah via logging roads and next week is back up to Birkenhead Lake area. We live in such a great place!
Stay Safe!
