Agreed...
But my wife will still ask "Are those going to blow out?"
you know how it goes too. if a woman asks something like that and a guy says no.... tire magically grows wings flying like a bird in the clouds and you will never hear the end of it and will get that "look" for several days.

Some people prepare for when things go right but it's the times they don't that you best prepare for. More than a few times over the years the loaders at home depot or the local hardware store have noticed me strapping even the smallest of loads and said to me , " You don't live that far that's not going anywhere." Maybe so, but I'm securing the load anyway.
There was a wreck here once where a guy pulling a trailer with two riding mowers detached from the hitch and rolled a couple times into the tree line. The trailer was upside down and mangled but the two mowers and trimmers were still secured. He was quoted as saying he didn't strap the mowers to the trailer ,he strapped the trailer to the mowers. I've always remembered that, lol.

Only tires but longer distance drive.
R18 size. No movement at back.
While loading and securing them I really missed shell cover ?

Ford does have a cargo net available for the Ranger in both bed sizes, I do recommend using carabineers because the plastic hooks suck big time. Cargo net does do wonders in minimizing groceries from ending up all over the bed driving home.
I have a 2x4 in the pockets of the bedliner behind the rear wheelwells and a pair of laundry baskets, usually nested, between it and the tailgate that I put groceries and small items in. Also I have a vinyl roll-up tonneau.
This is funnier if you know my wife's brother, but he was showing her some storage deal he built for the bed of his truck. Anything he does is always the best, the greatest, etc.
Wife says, "That's nice. Jon used a 2x4 and a laundry basket that works the same."

You must have eagle eyes! It took time to find that reflection if you meant that one on third picture right above light? It's just very good phone, fits perfectly in my jeans pocket but but has book-like Otterbox case so I open it to see a screen.

I have Ford's plastic bed mat and cargo net, with a Gator soft trifold tonneau. Cargo net has earned it's worth mainly with the trip to Florida and back holding down the luggage, stroller and second car seat. I'm glad this month it will just be luggage consisting of the large luggage bag for my wife and daughter, I have my clothes in my Ford Racing Duffle, and just the stroller as extra, the bed won't be as loaded down this time.

I was actually eyeing the differences between our bed rails and taillights and happened to see the huge phone.

I am picking up a set of wheels and tires from a member and I'm looking for recommendations on the best way to load and secure them in the back of my truck. I have a 6' bed and it's about an hour drive home. Thanks in advance!

Trick question? But, stand them up, wheels against each other directly behind the cab. Run a cable or line from the tie down straps on each side, through the wheel hubs.

Yea so about that....

Secure your load. One accident (that may not even be your fault) and you are possibly looking at some serious harm or lawsuits when a tire/wheel goes flying into little Susie walking down the sidewalk.

It takes 30 seconds to secure something clunky like wheels and tires. Don't be lazy and self centered with other peoples lives.
Long ago I had a Jeep Liberty and a nice tow hitch on it. I was moving with college buddies and i had borrowed a trailer from a friend.

we load the trailer in and didn't strap down the boxspring. Pulled out hit a set of train tracks going about 20 MPH(ones I would cross at 35 and 40 mph without a trailer.) That box spring went at least 18 feet in the air, did a full flip and landed corner down on a brand new car. (less than 500 miles on the odometer.)

now it was a glancing blow barely dented the cars fender, and a couple of minor scratches. but yes I had to explain to a cop over memorial day weekend what happened, call my friend who was getting a call from the cops and convince everyone my insurance would cover it.

I did manage to get a break from the cop and didn't get a ticket, and I did do the rest. but damn that taught me to not rely on others for checking things are strapped down.

run a strap through them and feel safe. dont be 25 year old me
