Stupid question: Is the 2.3 in the ranger the same as the Mustang

The reason I am asking. The 2017 Lincoln MKZ we had. Had the 2.0 ecoboost. When I questioned if I could Modify it. As I first thought it was the same motor as my 13 Focus ST. I was told that it was the gen 2 2.0 ecoboost and none of the parts would work.

So is the Ranger 2.3 Ecoboost The same motor as the Mustang. I know that there is a difference with the Focus RS and the Ecoboost mustang. Hence the head gasket problems.

Yes and no. It is set up and tuned different however some parts are interchangeable.

For example I got a boomba bov adapter for $30 cheaper because I bought one for a mustang that was older inventory. Works perfect.
