we should actively work to low ball these guys and get them to drop the price down to under $50. keep asking for lower prices and backing out, then when they advertise for lower, just keep repeating.
you have one of these coveted winch plates too? I ended up taking the front chin off to cut off the bull bar and re weld it with more angle so I can put soft shackles across it. Found it to be too close to the bumper and was hitting my license plate also. Angling it out fixed both my problems...
*fixed* found the error. I appreciate the help guys. I had not done the winch pre tensioning and the hook was swinging around when I would stop. I pulled the hook against the fairlead but not too tight so i can actually pull the cable out later without being bound up. Thanks for all the feedback
So I finally got around to installing the Shrockworks bumper I got with the new winch. I installed everything back, still need to find a good way to strap up the harness wince cutting the lower metal tabs from my OEM bumper, but after wiring the winch and getting the front sensors plugged back...
I also went with the BDS 3.5" Coil-Over lift, but i bought it before they offered the bypass dampening, so its just the 2.0 shocks. its been fine so far. In SoCal, ive been able to drive through Pilot Rock 2N17X, Gold Mountain, and Cleghorn doing all of the offshoots. its been good but theres...
i really dont like that they put the winch so dang high and the rope comes out of the space in the bumper instead of sitting lower so that you can reach the controls through the opening... make a template that you cut the window out of the plastic chin part and be able to run the cable through...
Nice! I wasn’t really looking for a bull bar, but this is easily the best hidden winch I could find here in the states… if I could I would have went with the Australian company “around the fire”… they have a great winch mount that uses your OEM bumper that you have to trim out to fit the cable...
i think you can use the stock skid plate, but im curious if i need to use their tow hooks or if i can re use the stock ones... i kind of like the shape of the stock better than these, they look like they will snag on stuff when out on rocks... but thats just my observation
thanks dude, trying not to spend 2k on a whole bumper and I like the design of the OEM… the SW lower bumper was going to be the closest to keeping it look original. I can’t get an exposed winch mount because I live in the hood and don’t want to deal with people that have nothing better then to...
anyone have a shrockworks bumper they want to part with, or any leads on a brand that is doing something similar? ive only just found out about the company and it sucks they went under this year
Check out Huracan Fab tailgate box. It’s great for all the straps and shackles you need to carry for recovery and it’s only a little cutting on your part. It’s $600 and I’m looking to get mine towards the end of year.
has anyone had the opportunity to install the hidden winch mount from Mongrel Off-road? I guess they have a vendor called Round The Fire that sells the mount and it looks great compared to the one sold here in the states. The cradle is lower in the bumper bash plate and doesn't block the air...
Has anyone searched or installed the A-Pillars from the Euro market (right hand drive) onto the American Ranger so you have grab handles on both sides?
