Anyone know of any stock length HD lower control arms on the market? Or any in development? I know there are boxed LCA kits from Baja Kits and a couple of others for long travel, but I was curious if any companies have reinforced or upgraded LCAs on the market that are straight drop in replacement for off-roaders who like smashing things on rocks.

If you or any of your buddies are handy with a welder you can fan up LCA skid plates pretty easily if you want to. Just as a thought. Very common on rally cars and IFS trophy trucks. A flat plate with angled ends is al you need. Plus a solid mounting solution. Would look sweet. Damn more ideas.

Yeah, most definitely! Ill post some pics up here if I go that route. Looking to overhaul my suspension here in about a month after I wrap up a move.

I'm more interested in seeing the trails you hit that can cause LCA damage. But definitely post pictures of whatever you end up doing.

I’m moving up to Sacramento, which is basically my home town. The sierras up here have rocky and technical trails, I’ll definitely post some pictures. Mainly looking for some insurance if I drop down onto a rock. I will be 1.5 hours away from the rubicon and trails like fordyce. Obviously my truck isn’t anywhere capable enough for a trail like fordyce, but I might try and play around on the rubicon a bit if I can stuff 35s.

I just saw on Instagram that RH Fab in Vegas is coming out with a stock width ranger LCA to match their upper. I had a lukewarm experience the first time with my UCA's so far (paint issues and order delays) so not sure if im buying but wanted to reply to your thread

Hey thanks for the response man! I’m excited to see at least someone is coming out with something. Thanks for the honest review.

The only thing I get jealous of when it comes to Tacoma owners is the large aftermarket parts selection they have haha. Hopefully the Ranger catches up soon.

Anytime, happy to help. The Rh Fab UCA are made impeccably, but I was promised a 3-4 week wait that turned into 10ish, and the paint they applied was already flaking off when delivered to me. I just with they were a little more communicative and up front, especially for how expensive they were when I could have just gotten a baja/icon/etc in a week for similar/less money.

unfortunately I feel were going the other way.. companies stopping ranger production in favor of Bronco parts for the masses. APG, ADD, the list grows everyday. Thankfully a few good companies still help this community grow with quality parts, but this trucks aftermarket support life-span seems short with the 2024 on the horizon.

Yeah that makes sense actually and it probably the honest truth. Hopefully aftermarket support doesn't go completely by the wayside when the 24' comes out. I guess we will see. Thankfully I am not going to go too crazy on my truck other than suspension. I still have to keep myself in check because I bought the extended warranty and want to keep this truck for 10 years - at least that was the intention lol.

I've reached out to them too, waiting on them to be released. That's my weak point under the truck.

No need to worry about changine the lower control arms. Here in Colorado there are plenty of technical trails and I never had an issue with the lower control arms hitting things. Main thing is just take it slow and you will be fine

Making LCA skidplates wouldn't be too terribly difficult, and would do exactly what you want to.

Even going all overkill and 'double boxing' the factory Arms with 1/8 plate or something doesnt seem like it would be a massive undertaking.

This is, of course, assuming you have the skill, equipment, and facilities to do such a build. I agree, LCA skids look easy to make, but I don't have any of the above to pull it off.

In the eternal words of John Quincy Adam's... 'git gud, scrub'

Lol kidding, I feel you. If you have MONEY.. a local place could probably slap something together for you at a decent enough price.

Then, if they work... you could have a bunch of sets made, sell them, and at least break even on whatever you paid for the first set.
