To add, when you shift to 'S' and then hit the +/-, you will be in select mode, meaning YOU will have to continue hitting + to upshift or - to downshift.

Kinda surprised that they don’t have a built in safety when in the select mode to prevent excessive redline.
They do, it's the driver. lol

One more point... touching "+" while in Drive will display the gear number, but not in Sport...
Seems odd!
Because touching + changes it to manual shift in S and the tac and gears appear on the left screen. At least on the Lariat they do.

lol I did the same the first time I used S mode. I must of hit the =/- by accident and it went right up to red line. I'm yelling SHIFT and finally realized it was my dumb mistake. Like Doug said as long as you don't touch the +/- it will shift by itself and if you hit them and want to get out of manual mode just press and hold it and it'll return auto shift.
Thank You so much!! Yes I feel stupid, but I honestly thought something was disconnected, broke or just not working. Good to know it was the driver!!

Right, but I just think the gear display should be always on regardless of shifter position.
On my STX you must turn it on when in drive,... seems odd!

Another stupid question, how do I get the gear to show up? Since I was hitting the +/- button.
