That’s awesome! Now you can hang a sign in front of your house! Small engine repair, simple jobs only please! ?I got the 3rd carb kit in today and I couldn't help myself and swapped out the carbs immediately. The only issue I had with the carb was the intake side gasket provided was just slightly off and would have created issue. But I used an exacto to make a slight adjustment and it lined up perfect with after that. I also installed a new switch, fuel line, and fuel filter before I tested the generator out, and she cranked up with just a few small adjustments. It works!!!!! After that, I shut it down and put all of the shrouds back in place, bolted down the fuel tank, installed a new air filter and gas gauge gas cap, and then test ran it again to make sure it was all still working. I ran it for roughly 30 minutes before I got tired of listening to it and shut it off. Yay! I did something right! ?
I've got a new spark plug for the generator and I'm waiting on 2 qts of Briggs & Stratton Vanguard Synthetic 5W50 oil. Once I get the oil in, I will perform an oil change and swap out the spark plug. I went with the synthetic 5W50 because B&S recommends it for equipment that may see extreme heat and long duty cycles. Being I'm down in South Florida and it's hot, and that if we get a bad storm and loose power for several days, I figured this might be the oil for me. Oh yeah! Thank you @SigOris - I ordered a replacement handle from Jacks Small Engines as the original one had long rotted away. All that was left was a rusty, sharp, metal stump. Damn handle was $62 shipped where as the Amazon carb was only $25!!!!! Ouch!
