From my understanding you get this tune if for your worried about the warranty. Get the livernois tune if you live alittle on the edge because they have a bunch of different modes.

That is true but also have to get smog tested here. Don’t want to fail because I have to restore the OEM tune. Any idea if that’s California legal?

What does your test consist of?

If it's similar to Colorado's I'd bet they all pass. Visual inspection, OBD scan for codes, and a sniffer.

It's easy to flash back to the stock tune if/when needed, it literally takes about 2-3 minutes. Just keep in mind that with the FPT you're stuck using premium where as the Livernois tune has the option to use the 87-89 tunes.

Problem is they won’t sell
It me, Because of the California address. I have to have my dad in Colorado send it to me after I ship it to him. What a pain in the butt.

It's the same in California, minus the sniffer.

Gotcha. Thought your concern was more "passing emissions" than CARB compliance.

You sure you checked them all? Could sworn Livernois was CARB compliant.

The Ford tune gets you about 45 hp, keep the warranty, and I think is legal in CA.
Downside, it costs $800 and you have to run at least 91 octane which where I live is another 60 cents a gallon. I'll be keeping mine stock.
