I'm barely 5'4" so I use the side steps. A driver's side grab handle would have been useful.
I’m short, get even picked sometimes but I use it as advantage ;)
I have everything for happiness.

My Westin side steps were looking nasty and starting to rust badly after a few salty seasons, so I recently took them off (flares are off too). It’s only been a handful of days but I don’t miss them at all.

The only difference is that it looks more “lifted”.

Love the new look!

How come ROW Rangers have a driver grab rail and not USA???????? That's lame. I use my steering wheel to haul myself in to the drivers seat.

I am 6'1" and use the aftermarket nerf bars I put on. The stock truck height was right in between needing something more or not. Then with the 1.5" lift in the front it was more toward the needing them side. It is much nicer to be above the seat and lower myself down instead of, as said, sliding over the seat side. Wife is 5'4" and gets more use out of them, that is when she actually remembers to use them.
Does anybody make stainless steal, running boards or sliders?

? I'm so jealous for the grab handle.
I’m not using it all the time anymore since step is wide enough for me to stand there, to clean windshield or whatever I need to do.
I used it every single time about first 6 months.

You're tall, take 'em off!

You like the look without, take them off!

You can always bolt them back on if you don't like the look.

Duke's truck looks great without them but he's also a tall Mad Max kind of guy.

Me, I'm short and they are an absolute must for me and the missus! =)

How Soupie feels to me (when I feeling pretty!). =D

Don’t let @subquark give you the wrong idea. In reality, this is what he’s referring to.

I'm 5' 11", When I ordered my truck they came with the black package and I couldn't delete them. I don't like the way they look so I just figured I'd remove them myself. Well, 2 months later they remain on lol. I actually use them now to get in and out. Yes I can get in and out of the truck by not using them, but I feel that will cause excessive wear and tear over time on the seats sliding in and out. So they've kinda grown on me a little.

My truck came without steps and one of my first mods was to add them. Wife appreciates them and the kids outright need them.

If you don't use them, there's no practical reason to leave them on, so just do what you like the look of better.

Mine came with them and I planned on taking them off. It was probably the second week I had the truck. It was really windy and the guy getting out his car next to me lost grip of his door and it slammed into my truck I thought. Got out and saw it put a little scratch on it. Guy thought I was going to be mad. I said don’t worry I don’t like them anyway. Touch up paint and you can’t even tell. That same scenario happened again when a hurricane was coming in. I decided to leave them on. Saved the door paint twice.

Personally I like the look of my Westins and do not need them to get in, but others in the family do (wife, mom, pups). The only time I really use them is when washing it. I am grateful for the many times they have saved the side of the truck at highway speeds blocking road debris which, that alone, has made it worth having them on.
