I searched but did not see anything similar . How many of us had older Gen Rangers in the past ?

My 1st Ranger was a new 1990 that I used as a show truck . It went thru several design stages , LOL .

My 2nd was a 1991 that I used as a work truck and to haul my mower etc . I never took any pics of it until the paint had come off at 13 years . I still drive it to work and around town for Home Depot runs etc . 327,000 miles and everything still works great and 18/20 MPG

My 1st Ranger was a 1986. The basic version. Purchased used in 1988, drove it for 13 years.

It had the 2.0 4 cylinder with a 5 speed. Very slow, but that probably helped keep me alive because I drove like an idiot back then.

As the years went on, it was updated with aluminum XLT wheels and seat. It got repainted 1966 Mustang Signal Flare Red, too.

Edit: I sure was thin. lol.

My first Ranger was a '92 Eddie Bauer Exploder, 32"s, Dick Cepek 3" lift, skid plates and rock sliders... (Had to install your own tow hooks on 4x4’s back then)

Talking to Ford Truck engineers about the "new" 2001 Sport Trac, and test driving them off road around Anza Borrego, Ca. This was January, 2000.

This is Sassy, a 1998 single cab, flareside, 2wd Ranger. She was a really good truck but would get stuck in grass all the time!!!
She got sold (not my choice) in 2016 but ended up with my red 2020 4 years later. Sassy was such an important part of my kids life and we still see her on the road.

I had this 2001 XLT 4.0L 5-speed 4x4 Off Road since new - traded it in on my 2019. This picture was taken the day before trading it in.

2002 with DIY V8 swap. Honestly, a truck Ford should have built.

Used a crashed '96 Expo for the engine, trans, PCM and rear axle.

If not for the Torque Monster headers, would have made money on the swap and even if not, what I sold it for with 300K miles more than paid for the swap.

Here's mine. 1994 bought new by my Dad. I got it when he passed in 2001 and my kids drove it to high school. I got it back in 2008 and repaired the new driver damage, swapped the auto for a 5 speed and added a LSD rear end. Just sold it to my brother who'll keep it in the family.

I bought one of the 1st Sport Tracs when they came out . I really should have kept that truck but I changed vehicles every 3 years back then .

This was my my 1990 Ranger XLT 2wd reg cab. I got it my junior year of college in 1992 and kept it for 10 years. It was a huge mistake to sell it, as I was truckless for about 8 years before I bought my Dad's old GMC Sierra work truck from him (which I just sent my son to college with). I'm happy to have a Ranger in the family again.

Here is my 2005 shortly before I sold it to buy my 2019 - I owned this for 13 years - Went on a lot of really cool adventures with this truck!

Here is a picture of my 2002 Ranger when we were going to the San Juan Islands with the Boy Scouts:
116-1648_IMG.jpg

This was my second Ranger - it did have an odd problem - one day it put itself into 4 low and wouldn't take itself out. I guess some electric servo or something went out. It had to be taken to the dealer on a flatbed to fix that issue. Other than that, it was trouble free - I got on the "lease treadmill" - I leased a 2000 Ranger, then the 2002 when the lease ran out, and then the 2005 when the 2002 lease ran out. I planned to buy it after the lease but every time they were able to put me into a brand new truck for the same monthly payment as buying my old truck. I did that twice and then bought my 2005 and kept it for 13 years.
