We’re heading up to Sedona today for the week and have been looking forward to this for a while. We’ve been there dozens of times and have made day trips there when we lived in Goodyear and it’s one of our favorite places to go and we’re lucky to have it right in our area. It was only a 90 minute drive from our house in Goodyear but now it’s doubled which still isn’t too bad and well worth it to be living down where we are now. There's just something special about the Red Rocks there and they say there's a Vortex which is supposed to give you some kind of spiritual healing. All I know is I do feel way more relaxed there and not just because we're on vacation. lol
We stay at The Highlands Resort which is on a golf course just outside of Sedona in Cornville/Cottonwood because we can get a whole condo for a week for what it would cost for only 2 nights in Sedona and will only be 15 minutes away. Another bonus is that it has a really nice small downtown area with restaurants, wineries & shops for of course you know who.
lol There’s some nice off roading trails there which I hope to get out on along with a couple days of hiking and I’m sure we’ll do a day trip up to Flagstaff which is only about 45 minutes away. Pictures to come later.
One thing we'll be doing this time that we haven't done yet is we’re going to take the Verde Canyon Railroad on Thursday. It takes you on a 4 hour trip through the mountains and along the river which takes you through a 734’ long tunnel.
