It is on the freeway 10 Spd trans.. just like ours. But the V8 has Eco Mode. :^)

Well believe it not, on the Freeway the new 2022 F150 400HP V8 Coyote engine in Eco Mode I got 26.5 MPG.
Yet to be confirmed when I get back to same gas pump and refill later. If I had not gotten a smoking trade in price it would not had happened and I had to wait 6 months for delivery.

451 miles until empty??!!....WTH?!!....I'm lucky if I get 250 miles with a full tank.......yes I'm tuned with a Ford performance tune and yes I like racing around town in my "wannabe" Ford Ranger "Raptor".......but come on, you're killing me!...(No I'm not trading my in on a F150....too many mods on my Ranger Lariat Tremor and it's almost paid for)

That is a really nice truck! I had a '20, it was just too big for what I needed. And truthfully these Rangers are better off-road vehicles. But looking at yours is very tempting, especially the 26 mpg!

How does the Eco mode work ...does it really cut out cylinders when not under a load?
If so, do you notice much when that happens, or when you need to get on the accelerator is there much, if any, lag time for speeding up?

I have only driven the GM products that switched between 8 and 4 cylinder mode and 6 and 4 cylinder mode. They were both seamless and worked well with no perceptible lag when accelerating. On the V8 engine, you did notice an exhaust sound delta in 4 cylinder mode if you didn't have the radio on.

I don't feel any less power but then I am a light footed driver. Feels plenty powerful to me. When I start up the engine, I select "Eco" mode on the selection wheel and just drive off. Even while driving if I just start and put in D and go I can select Eco mode while underway. The dash turns green letting me know it is now in Eco Mode. I'm very happy with it so far.

My Step son bought the same version of V8 Screw 4x4 only in XLT and black a week prior and has already done 1000 miles coming over the pass from Eastern WA in Normal mode and averages mid 20 -24"s MPG...
